Homeless encampment / can’t remove individuals?

All of this is unfortunate of course, but on a wooded lot right across the creek that acts as the border in the back of my property there is a homeless encampment that is growing. It is obvious that there are drugs or something being made or sold there as we see lots of traffic and hands offs on the entry way to the property down the road.

Lots of RVs, huge amounts of trash everywhere, they’ve lit the woods on fire multiple times and I’ve had to call the fire department because the fire was rapidly spreading, etc.

Code enforcement has been alerted to it, they’ve cleaned up debris and trash, are fining the owner of the property many thousands of dollars for all the violations they are committing (they told me it’s over 7k as we speak). Apparently the owner is doing nothing and not paying either. I’ve written anonymously letters to the property owner alerting them of the situation and no response.

Police have been alerted to what’s going on and have investigated the campsite, one arrest was made I believe but they have done nothing else and the camp still exists.

In the end, code enforcement told me they can’t actually remove the encampment from the property, and cannot remove the RVs from the property (they are very run down and broken up).

Our neighborhood is a nice neighborhood with the entry point around 400-500k when a house sells, my kids love the creek with all the neighborhood kids, so we feel very stuck with this.

Anyone have any advice on this?

I want to be humane of course but I’m afraid the situation will continue to spin out of control. Maybe I’ve posted about this here before if so, my apologies.
