M42 low on power under 4k rpm
Hey y'all!
So my e30 has been in the garage for about 4 years while i was doing some work on it (was a student then so had little money to get it back on the road) but i have noticed that it feels low on power.
I notice it most on straight stretches where it will climb up to 3000rpm and then start to pick up untill 4k rpm and then it really comes alive.
It also used to kick out the rear end pretty quick when i gave it some power in corners but now it stays planted. Its got new tires but even with the old ones on it it didnt want to play unless i pushed it to do a donut.
I know i have a little vacuum leak but i gave it the good old temporary fix so it shouldnt affect the driving that much (i think?)
It doesnt have any problems idling but when i shift down and come off power (like at a stoplight) it will kinda swing up and down a bit.
What it has installed/cleaned
- full custom exhaust (decat)
- coil on plug conversion
- injectors have been cleaned
- intake was cleaned with carb clean
I know the slave is on its way out, and i suspect that the clutch might be next but as its when im just doing a pul i figured that might not be the main problem?
What could be the issue?
Thanks!
