I need help/ insight

This is gonna be a long one, but if you have the patience, please read till the end. I’m in need of community on this and some help/ suggestion from others.

I, like everyone else on this forum, struggle with recurrent UTI’s. It all began last year, where I got my first uti in October, and had one back to back through December. I was treated for those, and since December I had about a 7 month remission. (Best 7 months of no uti)

I graduated college this past May. I planned a San Diego trip with my friends and my boyfriend. Let’s just say, I was begging for a UTI on this trip (lots of alcohol, not much water, lots of intimacy with my boyfriend) so, just like I expected, I wound up with a UTI. But I was okay with that, because I had just went 7 months without one, and I made some choices that definitely did me in. Totally my fault. I just figured I would take some antibiotics and be on my way.

Well, pretty much a month on the dot later, I get another uti. (Ah, the trauma resurfacing) so this led me to getting the Uqora defend, D-mannose, and vaginal probiotics. I was doing a bunch of research on how vaginal microbiome can actually defend against e.coli (all of my UTI’s were caused by that), and I was reading about biofilms. I was doing a shit ton of research bc I didn’t want to become scared of intimacy again, and I just don’t want to constantly take antibiotics.

I was consistent in taking the uqora and probiotics, and was taking d mannose immediately post sex as a flush. But here I am, with another uti. I had one in June, July, and now August. All one month apart.

Yes, I drink water. Yes, I wipe front to back. Yes, I pee immediately after sex.

You guys. I’m just feeling so incredibly hopeless. I’ve researched this topic until my eyes burn, spent so much money, all for me to just have the same result. The thing that is really getting me the most is, I was 7 months free without doing anything in particular!! I don’t know what’s going on. My boyfriend and I have been together for a year, so no change there either.

Is there anything that anyone recommends? Do you take d mannose every day, all day, even at night? I know a lot of people have much success with d mannose, maybe I just wasn’t using it right.
I need help. I want to be normal and not be scared to have sex. It gives me such bad anxiety to go pee every time, and I’ve almost become compulsive with checking my pee for any speck of cloudiness.

Thank you for reading.

New Grad SNF Position.. Advice?

I am a new graduate RN here in socal. I graduated may 2026, licensed July 2026. The job market is very saturated, especially by where I attended nursing school bc it’s a small area with three main hospitals and two nursing schools that apply to all three.

It was so hard to get an interview. I eventually applied to the SNF that I did clinicals at my first year of nursing school. I got the job, but there are some red flags. I need some advice…

I have a previous existing obligation taking place on one weekend in October (just sat and sun). After I got the job, I asked who I can speak to in scheduling to let them know about this date I need worked out. (I figured since I don’t start until August, this would give them plenty of time to work it out.) It’s worth mentioning that the recruiter said it was a “union position” and that would affect scheduling.

I got hit with, “did you mention it in your interview?” Which I thought was weird. Typically it’s not appropriate to bring things of this nature up at that time.

I was referred to the interim nursing supervisor, who said “typically you don’t request time off right after a job interview. First day of orientation we’ll talk to the staffer about your dates and do the best to accommodate.” I’m just worried because this event is important, and I also want to take an international trip at the end of the year, but it seems like it’s going to be an issue with scheduling.

I also don’t want to continue working here through the end of the year. I really want to land a hospital job that has more flexibility.

Does anyone have any experience with working in a SNF? Is this response a red flag? I have no experience with these things and need some insight.
