Did my first round of PRF today and feeling hopeful! Im not expecting miracles but even a 20% improvement would be welcome…plus I haven’t done anything to help improve my collagen production and I’m late 30’s so it’s a step in the right direction.
Wanted to share my experience for anyone else that may be curious.
They took two vials of my blood then spun it around in a machine for a bit and harvested all the good stuff from it. While all this was going on they dabbed a bit of lidocaine where they would be injecting it.
I wasn’t nervous before my appointment but after seeing the needles and being warned about how swollen I would be, anxiety set in and I was regretting ever making the appointment. There was no turning back tho (and I went to a v reputable place) so I accepted my fate.
Fast forward and the procedure itself was super pleasant and not painful one bit (I clenched distraction tools the entire time) They pricked my skin with a larger gage needle the funneled my PRF in under the eyes via a tube (I think? My eyes were closed but the provider let me know what she was doing).
The swelling that I was so worried about was not bad at all. I actually like how it looks and will be sad to see the swelling go, if anything it made me consider filler. (My injector mentioned the PRF EZ Gel is fantastic for under the eyes but not her favorite for other places).
So far so good! I’ll be going back in 4 weeks for round 2 and am looking forward to it now that i know what to expect.
