The Ring of Steal weather forecast

Looking at the Met office app for Mamores tomorrow they predicted a full day of >95% rain from morning till evening. We are in holiday in Scotland and planned a hike around the ring of steal tomorrow. We have no other opportunity to do it later unfortunately.

Would you still go or is it too dangerous?

Scotland hiking trip in October — looking for beta on Ring of Steall, Old Man of Storr/Quiraing, and Sgùrr na Strì

Hey all,
Heading to Scotland with two friends in the first week of October for a hiking-focused trip. I’ve done a fair bit of planning already, but I want to hear from people who've actually done these routes — especially in autumn conditions.

Our current plan:
Day 2: Ring of Steall (+ Devil's Ridge)
Day 4: Old Man of Storr at sunrise → Quiraing later that day → drive to Broadford
Day 5: Sgùrr na Strì

From what I've read, Ring of Steall and Sgùrr na Strì are both no joke in terms of difficulty/exposure, so I want to go in prepared rather than find out the hard way.
Really appreciate any first-hand experience, photos, warnings, or "wish I'd known this" tips.

What are these visions?

hello, I need some help to figure out what is going on me with. I will try make this as short as possible. I am 33y/o male who has gone through some serious trauma's in the past 10 years. I have always been a feeler, I read my world mostly through feeling situations ''out'' rather than thinking them out. 2 weeks ago my brother decided to go to a therapist, he got diagnosed with a complex trauma and ptsd. His therapist proposed he should be taken up in a clinic for a week to do a bunch of sessions and get some extensive EMDR therapy to help him. Now this has got me wondering ofcourse, Since we lived in the same household I can only assume I would get the same diagnose. Over the past years I did allot of work on myself in the form of meditation, releasing and letting go of pain, reading about self development etc and I followed a NLP course to get to know myself better and break patterns. I think on an intellectial level I have been able to put everything in the right place in my mind but i'm worried that the emotional/feeling component is not what it should be yet.

The present:

I have noticed in myself that, ''although im such a feeler'', I don't feel that much at all anymore. For example I've been noticing my lack of empathy when someone tells me something bad has happend to them. I give them a correct answer: ''Oh i'm so sorry for you, how are you holding up?'' I don't say that because I really want to know but because i know this make them feel heard and seen. Another thing I noticed is that when I get bad news about someone, like a distant uncle who had a heart attack, I shrug it off. My first response would be is he alive? yes? ah good then he will be fine. Am I just hardened by the course of events of the last years or is there something wrong with me. I also noticed I don't feel all that much anymore about my life in general. I do things very much in a robotic way sometimes without feeling anything, for example I have 2 cats and when they come to me I pet them. I pet them because i know they are my cats but I don't feel the joy of actually wanting to pet them that much. I pet them because there is a deep understanding that I love them but not necessarily out of the happines that comes from our small reunitings during the day. Don't understand me wrong, they are my babies and I am sort of happy to see them but I oftent think to myself, I should feel more joy when they come to me.

The visions:

In the past 2 years i've been getting these very visceral visions/feeling at the most random places or situations. The visions are FULL of feelings and details about life itself. It's hard to put words on them but the vision can be about anything. The most mundane situation or a very specific person or situation.

For example It would be a warm summer night on friday and I would be dozing off in bed around 23 pm while the TV is on. While im dozing off (not fully asleep yet) I would get this feeling that this is a LOVELY friday night, the ambient lights are on and giving off a cosy vibe, my cat is laying next to me on my bed and holding me company and everything is just so relaxed, I would be aware it's friday night and allot is happening in the city, nightlive is flourishing but im just here in my comfy room, enjoying the friday night at home in my cosy place. I would get a sense of that lovely feeling being free from work and having the whole weekend still ahead of me. From time to time a hint of summer breeze comes through my window giving me the feeling of a perfect summer night. It's so abundant and so rich and it hits me all at the same time. I almost never experience a situation or time of the day like I did that night. The only comparison to such a feeling I have is the cosy sunday morning feeling, slow start, coffee brew scent etc, reading a book or so.

Another example of a vision I had is when seeing my mother or father, although they caused me allot of trouble and hurt over the years. I would get another strong visceral input of feelings of how deeply deeply important they are to me and how much I love them. How much they mean to me and how they have been and still are, pillars in my life. I would also get a sense of how much pain and sorrow I would experience If they were not around anymore and get an instant understanding that I need to work harder to be in a better relationship with them. In that moment, it is like my ability to feel and understand goes to maximum capacity or call it a 20X compared to how much I feel normally feel about them.

These visions make me wonder, do ''normal'' healthy people feel these wide range of emotions always? Is their world always this VISCERAL and mine not so much anymore because I got traumatized and my heart lives behind a great wall to protect it from pain? I just know I would love to take in the world in such visceral details always. it's like all my senses are tuned into the present moment and the wholeness and richness of life gets through me in those moments.

So what are these ''visions'' and has anyone experienced this themselves?
