Yesterday I went to an estate sale where I picked up a Contax iiia for $350 today I returned to the estate sale on 50% off day and picked up this suitcase filled with random parts. I had no clue what I was look at but the one thing I saw was the cover for one of the lenses I purchased yesterday so I asked them what the price for the entire case was (we both had no clue what the cost was) so they asked me what I wanted to pay for it. I told the $75 they agreed took it home looked through the case and found some really awesome things including a few nice lens hoods. A couple of cool shutter release cables. And my favorite find was 2 collapsible Zeiss ikon viewfinder for a 50mm and one that’s a 50mm 135mm. Needless to say, the contax iiia has had a make over. There are to many things to list that were in the case so I’ve attached images. Hope you enjoy.

Hey all picked up this contax iiia with 4 lenses and a view finder today. It also includes the original leather case, leather pouches for the lenses a green lens filter and a release cable. I purchased the entire bundle for $350 I usually am more thorough when purchasing camera gear and try to stay really cheap when purchasing vintage camera gear. However every thing looked to be in great condition and there is no sign of mold on the lenses. So I picked it up. Now that I’m home the main issues I see with the camera is long exposure settings seem to be pretty useless. And the light meter also doesn’t seem to work. Other than that the body of the camera looks pristine and the lenses as well. The estate sale mentioned that the gentleman was a sales rep for Carl Zeiss. Also as a note the estate sale originally wanted to charge me $600 for the set but I talked them down. It was the classic estate sale situation where they look up a lens finds the highest sold price of a lens that is similar and prices it that much. They weren’t even aware of f-stop so I tried to help explain that so they didn’t go crazy with the prices.
Anyways would love to know more about this camera and lenses. Also did I get hosed with the price $100 is usually the cap I put on cameras unless I’m very familiar with the make and model.

I am a muralist. I have a work van for sale painting murals. I had the idea to convert my van into a work/camp van so i could travel from California to Colorado then South Dakota to paint murals this year. I have a lot to learn but it’s been amazing so far!
