Today Was a Good Day

Pulled completely away from Themis directed study today so I can focus on memorization and honing my MBEs Essay. Did a mixed bag of 50 NCBE and happy with the result.

I was really inspired by a post yesterday from the father of 2 with one on the way who absolutely crushed his set of 100. I too am a father of two little ones, so it adds a whole new level of complexity to this studying madness.

For My Own Knowledge

  1. I knew with every fiber of my being the answer was A. I knew he didn’t have standing under the 4th Amendment, but I needed my man to go free.

  2. On what grounds would he be able to challenge the seizure of the ledger???

MCQ Practice Exam #2

Clicking that final submit button is always a bit nerve racking, but today was a good day. How is everyone doing on doing on their practice MCQ exams?

I’m Okay With It

For the first time in my entire life (and I’m significantly older than the average law student) I’m okay with just being average. This process has truly humbled me.

Themis Qbank vs UWorld vs NCBE

For all you Themis users this may or may not be helpful information, but thought I’d pass it along.

The practice sets (usually 17 or 34) that are administered in the directed study are not questions from the Qbank, but rather questions strictly developed by UWorld/Themis which are VERY nuanced.

Then you have the Qbank which we know can be filtered by NCBE licensed questions and Qbank questions. The Qbank is a wholly separate platform than UWorld. The two are not linked.

I guess my point here is the reporting and overall percentages you’re seeing should be taken with a grain of salt because there’s no way to isolate in the reporting which questions were part of UWorld vs. Qbank vs. NCBE.

Happy Studying

Please Explain

How is submitting an affidavit with this information not being offered to prove the truth of the matter asserted? It’s quite literally being offered to prove the negligent hiring of the truck driver.

Themis Civ Pro QBank UWorld

Is it me or are these Civ Pro UWorld (not the NCBE) questions absolutely insane? Should I be worried I’m in the 40s with these questions?

Is Habeus Crustus dead?

This is Habeus Crustus. He’s about a year old. He’s been absolutely amazing turning out some of the best loaves this side of the Mississippi. I don’t refrigerate him and usually feed him once a day. However, as life does, I went ~3 days without feeding him and now he smells horrendous. I’ve tried doing a couple stiff feedings but I don’t see any activity. Have I lost him?

Essay Confidence Level

I’ve finished approx. 40% of Themis and struggle to recall enough of rules to even type out a coherent rule. I feel like I can spot an issue or at least know it’s an issue even if I can’t recall the exact issue. Is this normal at this stage in the game or should I be able to write decent essays by now?

Just Need to Scream into the Void - I hate Real Property.

How is a 200 bed nursing home not excessive? Just because it’s allowed by some ordinance has no bearing on whether it’s excessive. Furthermore, the explanation for my incorrect answer choice describes exactly what the woman did! Anyway, thanks for listening.

I’m a Novice. Need Help.

I’m just looking for some basic info about this pen. (1) is it real? (2) if it is, what’s the value? (3) can be cleaned/restored (is it even worth it do it?)

Quick background: I received this pen from a family member when I graduated law school. They told me it belonged to my grandfather and likely 20-30 years old.

Any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Themis Users: What Does This Mean????

Under these “Assess” assignments it always says 10Qs which I’ve always assumed meant 10 Questions… but these assignments have 25-30 questions. Can anyone shed some light on this?

My farewell rant

I’ve been playing this game since its inception and have had a great time over the years. Recently, due to life, I’ve been unable to get out and do raids, but Poke Genie and my local Discord have been great with remote raid access. Unfortunately, remote raids come with a price tag of having to purchase remote passes (fine, it is what it is)

Here’s my issue. We spend money on these passes. Real dollars. I just completed back-to-back raids of two different legendaries and both resulted in a no catch despite every ball hitting with great or excellent.

Whether it’s intentional or not it feels like this has become a money grab like everything else. If we’re spending money at least give us the enjoyment we’re paying for.

I say all this to say, I’m out. A 10 year old collection will disappear into the mist.
