Biopsy in OR

Hello all,

Just feeling a bit defeated with finding some answers. I have had bleeding since last month (most days it’s only spotting) with pelvic pain/pressure. I have vaginismus so this has been challenging in terms of getting through exams. I have fibroids and was able to get through a vaginal ultrasound however I was not able to get through a pelvic exam today (doctor wanted to rule out polyps in cervix and do a pap if possible but decided against the pap since I’m bleeding). She said they can also look into endometriosis by doing a biopsy and said that would be even more uncomfortable for me and they can do that in the OR.

Has anyone gone this route?

Overwhelmed and exhausted and grateful to have found this community!

Gyno appointment

I am just seeking some support for a gyno appointment tomorrow. I have had my period and spotting for 3 weeks and some pelvic pain over the weekend so the provider and I figured it was best to consult a gyno. I have been spending this year doing pelvic floor exercises I learned from PT and dilating to prepare for a Pap smear - 2 years overdue and scheduled for end of September as self pay with the gyno who first referred me for pelvic PT and I had a successful Pap smear with her years ago - I tried to get a Pap smear last year with a different gyno and was not successful and ended up crying in the office and my car. Even though the appointment tomorrow is going to be going over symptoms and possible testing I’m so nervous. My primary doctor ordered a pelvic ultrasound and told me vaginal would be helpful but if I don’t think I can tolerate that then an abdominal (external pelvic) one will do. I have fibroids and aware of that through past CT and MRIs and pelvic ultrasound.

I’m trying to go into the appointment tomorrow with an open mind but have been so anxious on top of already not feeling good physically speaking.

Thank you for any advice or words of encouragement you may have!

Anticipatory Anxiety…again

Hi all, flying out tomorrow and the anticipatory anxiety is the worst. I’m trying to remind myself of the trip I took 5 months ago and how at the end of the day I got through it - was better on the way there and I had anxiety and relied on med, bracing and mentally spiraling on the way back haha

A small win as of last few trips is that I have stopped looking at weather forecasts pretending like I have a PhD on any it haha

I’m also realizing this time around that I’m anxious of basically panicking during the flight. My daughter will be with me and perhaps I’m too hard on myself in terms of expecting to be fully present and engaged with her while mentally being a hot mess.

I’m grateful to be able to process out loud so to speak in this community :)
