What the Lord Ruler does for mankind

On a reread of the original trilogy, and I was thinking about what we know about the Lord Ruler's normal activities. Constant emotional soothing.

I think that his intention is to sooth Ruin in it's prison so it does not act as much as it would if it had more freedom of emotion.

But I was also thinking about Copper clouds and how TLR knows much more about Allomancy and Investiture in general.

I think he can shift the frequency he obscures, and was probably constantly copper clouding on a different frequency, Ruins frequency. This way he was also constantly stopping Ruins power from spreading out far and wide, or letting it's senses get far out into the world and affect things on a large scale.

Unspoiled podcast read through with Twelve Months up to chapter 50.

So for this book I decided to try following along with audio books with a podcast that reads a few chapters at a time and then discussed it. One host has read the whole thing the other host is doing it for the first time. On every other book in the series I would listen and chuckle at the unspoiled hosts guesses and be amused at the accuracy or inaccuracies.

This time I decided to wait for the podcast to read Twelve Months and be right there with the unspoiled host.

It was a lot of fun and hard to stop listening on time.

The best part about trying it in this book is that because there are so many different plot lines that take a few chapters here then the next few are a different plot line that when I inevitably failed at stopping on time it was only partially a failure, since in most of the podcast chapter break points were also plotline break points I didn't actually spoil myself, most times, for the discussion in the podcast.

So I got to appreciate the difficulty of reading this way, stopping and theorizing, while also having safe fails at stopping on time. It has been a blast and I look forward to doing it again.

And the way Mab is "Helping" bring Thomas and Justine back.... Did not expect that. I look forward to finishing off the book a few chapters at a time in the next few weeks and see what is in store for myself.

Hello, my father in law recently died and left this project undone. Unfortunately he didn't tell me what this project was supposed to be beforehand. Can any of you help identify what I might be? He was an outdoorsman, hunter, and gun enthusiast. He's made a bunch of complex bags and pouches and knife sheaths, so it could be a complex project. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to complete his project.
