I am a 16-year-old who recently changed schools. Ever since changing schools, there is one teacher who seems to be unusually interested in me. Throughout the whole year, I’ve been getting great grades like 9s and now 10s, even though that class is one of my worst subjects. Last year at my old school, my average was a 5, which makes me confused because I still don’t fully understand the subject. Since I started attending this new school, the teacher often makes small talk with me, unlike with my other classmates. At first, the small talk was about how I look and who I am related to. Recently, it has shifted to questions like what my parents’ jobs are, where I am going on trips, and how my trips went. The teacher does not ask these types of questions to anyone else.
Whenever there is an event related to the subject, the teacher keeps signing me up, usually only me, even though there are many other classmates who are better at the subject. There is also another student who is very similar to me—shy, smart, and not very talkative—but the teacher has never spoken to them. Whenever the teacher talks to me, she gets very close, like about 2 cm away from my face, which makes me uncomfortable. I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid or if this is something I should be more careful about.
