I am a HN, soon to be HM3 and just got orders to 2d MAR RDR BN. I am not a SARC or ATF corpsman just a quad zero. what should I expect?

Recently my 1979 85hp evenrude has been having some fueling issues. It refuses to start unless you use staring fluid then it runs fine. after it starts it runs at low rpms as it should but once it gets to higher rpms it stalls out and dies. After it dies the fuel tank primer can be squeezed but gets stuck in the squeezed in position until I start it again with staring fluid. I pulled out the fuel pump, however it seems to look brand new and the diaphragm is in good condition. all the fuel lines are new and still good, and the fuel tank wasn’t pressure locked. At this point i’m stuck and not sure what else to look for. any help would be much appreciated!

It’s a 88hp 2 stroke evenruide on 18ft tri-hull dixie. For the past couple weeks It would be super underpowered in reverse, at full reverse throttle it would go into a low extremely slow crawl. However now it won’t go into reverse at all. when throttling in reverse the motor will rev up but wont engage the prop. I have also been running into issues of while going forward the motor only revs to 3500-4000 rpms before I run out of throttle, however it used to run over 5000. Any possible solutions? I am thinking it may be a stretched shift cable because of my google searching, however any advice would be appreciated.
