2026 Tier List (warning; not all Fantasy)

2026 Tier List (warning; not all Fantasy)

(my first attempt at a tier list- sorry for the format)

Thirty-seven books in for 2026, with some serious thicboyz on the list.
Next on my TBR is Words of Radiance, Dungeon Crawler Carl (everyone can't be wrong, can they?), and 11/22/63.

Count of Monte Cristo is a great classic thicboy to impress your friends.
Grant was great if you like US history.
Facing the Mountain also great true WW2 story.
Morning Star was a great ending to the trilogy.
Way of Kings didn't disappoint. On to the next.
No Country for Old Men was great. McCarthy knows how to write dialog.
Crime and Punishment Dostoevsky > Tolstoy
Extreme Ownership is good leadership book.
Red Seas and Republic of Thieves- I liked Lies of Lock La Mora and didn't even know there were more. Enjoyed these.
Light Bringer is a great setup for what should be a solid ending.
Grapes of wrath was good. That ending had me... WTF
Strong til the End- personal connection to a tragic recent event.
Dark Age- Felt like a middle book. Good.
How to Fail- I've failed a lot at life. Thought I'd see what the second part was all about.
Golden Son. Good middle book.
Frankenstein- Stories aren't told like this anymore.
Jurassic Park- Book was good. Movie is better IMHO
Splendid and Vile. I like Larson. Churchill was surprisingly hilarious.
Red Rising. Great first book.
Up From Slavery. Good story of a man I knew little about.
All the pretty horses. Eh, the dialog made this one higher than the rest of the story.
Bird by bird- The driest sense of humor I've ever heard.
Chase the Lion- Motivational, repetitive. Wife gave it to me.
Butchers Crossing. OK.
Gates of Fire. If that moment in history excites, good. Just ok. It's short which makes it higher.
Iron Gold- Weakest of the bunch mostly cause there's so much lore to drop.
The Hunter- Went in blind. There are like 40 books. I'll skip the rest.
The Wolf Age- Good if you like that time in history.
Anna Karenina- better than War and Peace but that's isn't saying a lot. Tolstoy isn't for me.
Six of Crows- I'm not a 12 year old girl. Went in blind.

I have a lot of interests. Hope you don't mind seeing the non-fantasy. My TBR is mostly fantasy for the rest of the year.

Edit** Red Rising ranks might have been from memory while also having the events of the books blur together. The ending of Golden Son was brutal but I didn't feel it as bad as I immediately went on to Morning Star. So I get the baffled reaction.
