I’ve hired a lawyer for a sexual assault/rape case and we are going to start off with a demand letter to see if we can settle things privately.
It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve paid the retainer and one week since I sent a follow up. I have yet to hear anything back.
when would it be reasonable to follow up again?

I’ve made payment 3 weeks ago and followed up last week asking for an update.
I can understand that there may not be any updates at the moment, but considering there has been no communication since their confirmation of the receipt of payment and this is the opening of my file, I thought maybe we would have done kind of call or meeting to set up expectations and/or a roadmap?
I have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes, if she’s working on something, or what to expect.
is this normal? how does this process typically work?
This is for a sexual assault/rape case. Lawyer will initially be contacting the defendant with a letter to see if private resolution is possible.
It has been 2.5 weeks since payment has been confirmed. I followed up on Thursday last week for an update, but still no response.
Just wondering how much communication I should expect and if this is normal?
I deleted some personal notes that I now realize could have aided my side in a current lawsuit I am in. Unfortunately they were not saved to the cloud and I haven’t backed up my phone in years. Is there any possible way to recover them. I have an iPhone 13 if that helps.

I sent a lawyer some intake documents through three different emails and through ZIP folders as the attachments were quite large.
its been two and a half weeks with no response and I thought they were perhaps still reviewing or passively declining me.
however, is it possible they never received my emails since I was using ZIP attachments?

I’ve been trying to find a lawyer for a cross border issue between Location: Canada and France and just sent a law firm some documents after an initial call last week. I haven’t heard back since and was wondering how long the review of documents typically take? my documents were primarily message screenshots and some personal notes and travel docs. Is it possible they are passively rejecting me, or if they were to decline, would they let me know.
I was sexually assaulted several years back by a man I met while travelling. i kept telling myself in my head that it wasn’t that bad and I am overreacting and almost shifting the blame on myself. We ended up keeping in touch and I started to grow attached to him. When things ended between us, it provided me the clarity to reflect on everything and I determined that I was raped that first night And wanted to take legal action. I’ve reached out to several law firms who have declined my case and it just makes me incredibly sad as I feel like nobody believes me. I don’t have very much proof that it happened as well and how I just feel like there is nothing I can do and he will just get away with it.
