Adding an acid

When just using regular henna powder, does mixing a little bit of a type of acid, like ACV or lemon juice help keep it lighter or does it help it darken more? I’ve seen mixed comments about it and I was just curious what it does vs just the henna powder and water.

Henna tips

Hello everyone! Newbie here!

So to start I wanted to go gingery color, my sister had been using this brand of hair dye, the Sally’s I bought mine Freon gave me the wrong box, I didn’t check it and my hair ended up the wrong color, after trying to fix it at home I went to a salon and got it fixed. It’s been about 6 months since then. I really wanted to stop using hair dye and switch to henna.

I bought Thai H and C henna, followed the instructions, used used water and mixed until the consistency the bag said and left it to sit at room temp overnight, I applied it to my roots the following day, left it in fir 3 1/2 hours and rinsed and then conditioned my ends.

I love it! I love how it turned out. HOWEVER I know my ends are bleached and some of the top. I’d say it’s grown out about 3 inches ish since I had any bleach. So I know that my top color will be darker than my ends making forward. But I need help from here as to how often I should be using henna. How to achieve the color I’m hoping too if possible or close to it. And any aftercare tips as well as how to still be able to achieve my curl pattern!

I will attach my photos of my natural hair, when it was dyed after the salon and box color at home as well as what it looked like before I used henna and after for better understanding!

Thank you so much in advance!
