Can I legally compel my landlord to let me install a bidet?
When I moved in, my agent explicitly said “Do not try to install a bidet, there is not shut off valve on your toilet, only the main shut off. If you try it will flood your apartment.” He was correct, there is no shut off valve on my toilet. But how long could it take to install a cheap bidet? I could deprive my unit of water for maybe an hour?
Main thing being, is there like a doctor’s form I could have filled out to the effect of “This patient needs a bidet for her health. Toilet paper is really rough on someone’s butthole and makes them bleed and doesn’t even fully clean them off.”
Barring that, do y’all have alternative recommendations? I have considered a shower head type solution but my shower only has one pressure: on. So I worry that it would be a waste of money. (Let alone the inconvenience of standing up to unhook the hose, turn on the shower, wait for the right temperature to occur, etc.”
