UC backdated housing costs sent to Decision Maker + MP involved. How long does it take?

Hi everyone,

Need some advice on timelines. My housing costs were left out of my June Universal Credit payment because they were still in the middle of being verified.
They are fully verified now, and I just got my correct housing amount for July.

On July 1st, a case manager sent my June underpayment to a Decision Maker to get it backdated. I'm facing severe hardship and daily landlord late fees, so I contacted my MP. Today (Tuesday), my MP's office confirmed they have officially chased the DWP specifically about this backpay.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long does a Decision Maker usually take to release backdated housing costs once an MP steps in to escalate it?

Thanks!

Edit: Just to add my MP has actually been involved for weeks now because the DWP took nearly two months just to verify my housing costs after I reported them on May 28th. Now that the verification is finally done and the June underpayment is sitting with the Decision Maker, the MP's office chased them again today specifically to get this backpay released.

TheWeirdLiz Needs To Be Institutionalised.

The funniest part is Sabina actually tried to step in and divert the subject to save her, but Liz completely ignored her and just kept going on and on about her ***** anyway 😂😂😂😂 Sabina realized there was no saving this crashout, shut up, and just went "mmhmm mmhm" looking traumatized lmao.

And then she tries to claim that when she was pregnant, all anyone talked about was her p****?? Like, nobody asked for all that detail! 🤢 Who tf would even say that? It’s giving pure crackhead energy and major secondhand embarrassment. If the escort allegations weren't hitting a nerve, she wouldn't be screeching like a total sicko. The "high value" act is completely down the drain.

Also another thing that stood out to me wasn’t confidence but the opposite. Truly secure people don’t react to accusations by screaming increasingly graphic things to strangers on the internet. The intensity of the reaction made it seem like she wasn’t arguing with critics anymore but with her own emotions. The more she tried to prove she wasn’t bothered, the more bothered she appeared.

There’s also something ironic about someone whose brand revolves around poise, self-control, and feminine energy having one of the most chaotic public crashes imaginable. The carefully curated image vanished in minutes, revealing someone who looked deeply triggered and unable to regulate her emotions. That’s what made it so uncomfortable to watch: not because it was shocking, but because it felt like witnessing someone lose control while still desperately trying to maintain the illusion that they hadn’t.

If this really is rock bottom, it might end up being remembered as the moment the perfect, high value, life coach image cracked. Not because people criticized her, but because she abandoned the character herself. Sometimes the downfall doesn’t come from haters exposing you. It comes from the mask slipping and everyone seeing the truth. The high value act is completely down the drain. 💀🤮

Seriously, thewizardliz needs to be institutionalised. Someone please contact her family (not sabina) and get her the real help man.

Imagine being banned on Twitch, losing every cent, and having a complete meltdown on a hotel bed while your own sister just sits there fixing her hair like it's a regular Tuesday..

I am honestly shocked watching this total meltdown. Liz is completely losing her mind screaming on live streams, and Sabina is just sitting right next to her completely unfazed, adjusting her hair like everything is totally normal. The detachment is unrealll.

From a psychological perspective, it is genuinely terrifying to see what she has become. She is a grown woman, yet she completely lacks any emotional regulation or basic adult impulse control.

She cannot keep blaming her ex and her parents for her own toxic behavior forever. At some point, you have to look in the mirror. While we know many immigrant families can be deeply abusive, seeing how unhinged she is makes you wonder if her dad was just dealing with a child who was entirely out of control from a young age?!

Liz ended up getting suspended from Twitch because she can't control her rage. Her YouTube videos aren't making money, her follower count is tanking, and she is burning through cash running desperate paid marketing campaigns just to force her bullshit ideologies down everyone's throats.

Imagine completely ruining your own brand and facing major legal consequences all because you think this behavior is acceptable. No amount of "high value" manifestation can delete this trainwreck.

Private landlord contacted by DWP after rent increase declaration is this normal practice?

I recently had a rent increase and submitted all the updated housing cost evidence to the DWP. They’ve now contacted my private landlord to verify the information.

Is this normal practice when reporting a rent increase or housing cost change? I wasn’t keen on my landlord being informed that I’m claiming benefits, but it seems the DWP contacted them anyway.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a routine verification check, or is there usually a specific reason they contact a landlord directly?

Thanks for any insight

England (London) – Can housing cost verification be expedited? Private rent increase and rent now due

I reported a rent increase to Universal Credit a week ago and my housing costs are still showing as being verified.

I was due to pay my rent today and haven’t had any update yet. My case manager says the verification is still in progress and that any increase will be backdated once it’s approved.

The problem is that I rent privately and my landlord expects the full rent now. Backdating later doesn’t help me cover the shortfall in the meantime.

Has anyone been through this recently? How long did it take for your housing costs to be verified after reporting a rent increase?

Also, is there any way to ask for the process to be treated as urgent when rent is due?

Any advice would be appreciated, especially from anyone who works for DWP or has experience with UC housing costs.
