Maxwell 2 for Xbox (do not buy these for Xbox), a horror story

Hello!

I've owned this headset for about a few months. The audio quality is pretty good and the features are nice but if you're like me and primarily play between Xbox and PC then I suggest you look at another headset or.. else.

It was Thursday night. My group was pretty excited about jumping into the Gears of War E Day beta that was going on. As I turn the headset on, I see a notification on my TV saying the headset was connected. I move around the dashboard and hear nothing. I power on and off the headset and still nothing. I get up to check the USB dongle thats needed for the headset to connect wireless. The light on the dongle is off. I disconnect it from the the USB cable and reconnect it. Still nothing. I try other USB slots. Nothing. I try doing a full shutdown and restart the Xbox. Still nothing. I try resyncing the headset to the dongle but nothing. I connect it to my computer thinking maybe it has a recent update and while my computer recognizes the headset, it does not recognize the dongle. I unplug the dongle and reconnect it to different USB slots and still nothing. I try updating tbe headset by itself which worked but the dongle was still dead. I tried switching the toggle for the dongle from pc to xbox and vice versa and notging. Meanwhile my buds are waiting 1 hr 30 min+ while I keep trying to fix the damn thing.

Eventually I read online that the reason why the dongle was not being recognized was that the microphone was plugged into the headset and i had to physically detach the microphone itself for the dongle to be read. So I detach the microphone and suddenly the dongle lights up and the computer recognizes it.

Here's the thing. The headset/dongle have never had this issue before. I was able to play games with my group with no issues. Eventually after about a month of owning the headset, randomly the mic would read as disconnected. If I even flinched, the mic would disconnect. Then another week later and suddenly not even a flinch disconnects the mic.

Overall what im trying to say is. This headset *SUCKS*. It randomly decides to disconnect anything. Between the dongle randomly disconnecting, the mic randomly not working, and the asinine process you need to do for the computer to recognize the dongle. I simply can not stress to xbox players enough. Do not buy this headset for xbox.
