UK DVD haul (what should I watch next?)

Finally back in my home country of Australia after a working holiday in the UK! Got most of these from HMV and Fopp (which I lowkey wish we had in Australia. JB Hi-Fi only has so much, especially when it comes to its non-English language selection), but a good few were thrift finds. Also, shout out to Timeslip in Brighton. Lots of obscure stuff there!

I added the green Letterboxd watched icon to denote which movies I had already seen. Anyway, what's your personal favourite movie out of this haul? And which one that I haven't seen would you recommend I watch next?

Edit: Oops messed up the last photo! The third column of films are Princess Mononoke (seen), Red Beard (seen), Red Sorghum, Ringu, The Sacrifice (seen), Scarface (seen), Seven Samurai (seen), Sonatine (seen), Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures), Steins;Gate, Stroczek, Throne of Blood (seen), Tokyo Godfathers (seen), Woman of the Dunes (seen), The Worst Person in the World.

Fallen Angels soccer shirt, BFI Shop, London

Went to the British Film Institute’s official shop in Waterloo yesterday (travelling from Australia) and spotted this gem. I wonder who came up with it haha. Anyway, I wish I could’ve bought it but it was £90 and I’m broke. Settled on some Fallen Angels stickers instead for £9.

Young teacher here (23M), just finished my CELTA (which I somehow really enjoyed) and going to do one of those intensive summer camps in the UK to gain some experience.

Anywho, I've been trying to sort out jobs for afterwards. I always wanted to live/travel in Southeast Asia, and I've got in contact with two companies.

Company A are a private language school in Hanoi. They have offered me a contract of 39 million dong a month. Teaching hours are a bit longer than I had hoped (25 teaching hours/week). They are only willing to pay partially for health insurance and won't compensate visa costs, temporary accommodation etc.

Tbh I have a slight bad gut feeling about this company. I used a recruiter to find this company, and they are heavily pressuring me to sign. I've managed to stall a decision until seven hours from now. I do like the idea of teaching in Hanoi though and, even if there isn't much of expat support within the company, I can find some a good network outside of the company.

Company B are a well-established language company (don't know whether I should say the name). This position will be in Phnom Penh. The hours are still long (24-26 teaching hours/week), but it seems like they have more support for expats, health insurance, accommodation, visas etc. I do prefer this job over Company A tbh.

I "passed" the interview (whatever that means) and I had a nice chat with the main HR person. But they've made it clear that they won't offer a contract yet or even give me a clear timeframe. They said just to keep in touch. It would give me great peace of mind if they did offer me something but fair enough, I guess. They're still working out the logistics.

Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what I should do. This is a real Sliding Doors moment. Should I....

1) sign the contract with Company A today? Even though I have a bad feeling, I would like the peace of mind of having some form of job security. And it may end up being better than I think. ^(And I guess if something better came up, I could try and get out of the contract.)

2) Play the waiting game with Company B? I don't like the uncertainty/anxiety that comes with waiting, but I do like the sound of this company.

3) Look for better opportunities? Tbh I'm not happy with the teaching hours and a part of me feels I can do/find better I'm honestly tired of applying and interviewing, but maybe it'll be worth it. There seems to be some opportunities in China at the moment for public/private schools. Even though China isn't top of my list, the teaching hours seem to be under 20 hours which is what I would like.

Thanks in advance. Sorry if I'm so pathetic, I hate being an adult 😭

Edit: After reading the comments, I decided to reject Company A outright. I'll just concentrate on this UK gig for the time being and then, afterwards, see if Company B are still interested as well as exploring other options. Thank you all!
