Anyone ever see a gouge this big?

A customer of mine gave me a whole bunch of old tools. She had a tenant that signed a lease and then promptly got arrested for drugs. The landlord hung onto the stuff for about 10 years with no word from the woman, so they finally ended up in my hands. Amongst the tools was this gouge over 2" wide. I set it next to a Stanley 60 1/2 block plane for reference.

The bevel is on the opposite side of what it normally would be. My only thought was that perhaps it was used for paring the edges of a hole when doing timber framing. 🤷 Or maybe someone reground it for a special purpose?

Any thoughts?

My fancy pants mallet

For all of you that thought the picture of my shop was AI...

This mallet was in the shop wall. This is me using it. I made it out of black walnut and brass. I'm eventually going to do a build video of it on my YouTube channel. As of now, I only have 3 shop project videos uploaded on my channel; I just started uploading. But I will be doing some build videos soon. My socials are linked in my profile. And those videos also show my shop. You'll see it's not AI.

I built a motorized-lift tool base for my table saw and router table.

[Treadmill to Motorized Mobile Base] (https://youtu.be/f5JVWjY4VIk?is=SQmNpM64H2xzBrcE)

My workshop is about 14x20. It mostly works out alright. Finding room for assembly is difficult. But the most irritating problem to me was having to pull my router table out from the wall every time I needed to use it.

I loved the idea of having my table saw and router table together, but that would've compounded the problem. So, I came up with an idea to make a mobile base out of an old treadmill frame, and utilized the incline motor to lift it and lower it onto casters.

It's been working great! Having small shops, I thought maybe some of you would appreciate it. I just started filming some of my stuff for YouTube, so I'm sure my videos aren't as "refined" as they could be 😄, but if you end up watching it, I hope you enjoy it!
