Brought my escape to the dealership after getting the SSN message. Do I need to get a new battery or is there another fix?

Edit: I realized I forgot a lot of probably important information. It's a 2006 with about 137k miles. The Ford dealership I brought it to checked for connection issues and corrosion and told me the battery control module failed.

The 12v battery seems fine but if I let the vehicle sit for a few days it won't start without a jump.

I've only had this issue happen once but the engine seems very under powered and the fuel economy doesn't seem as good as it should be (but I'll have to do some math next time I fill up).
