Tips for a starter set up?
Reposting (with several alterations!) on my main account since I accidentally made the og post on my throwaway and got no replies lol.
I'm looking for a small setup to help me record some of my music! I'm a mezzo-soprano and sing in operatic, choral, musical-theatre, and pop styles. I'm decently familiar with audacity and FLStudio (2025) as far as production software. I might want to record a bit of acoustic guitar but as of right now that's not a priority.
After doing some research I've made a list of what I think I want to go with for equipment, but I wanted some suggestions!
Behringer SL84C microphone (ik 90% of people are going to recommend saving for the Shure SM58 but I'd like to start a little cheaper as i'm about to graduate university and will likely be moving- the SM58 will 100% be on my list once I have a job in my field!)
Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 audio interface (Again, cheaper the better. I'm also living in a one-bedroom apartment and my "studio" has to triple as my homework/study station and bedroom, so size is also a factor)
FIBBR XLR cable
FIFINE Studio Monitor Headphones (imo headphones are not entirely necessary for me! if these suck i'm willing to save up for a better set)
