Frozen for 5 years and I had NO IDEA she existed

I did my FET today with what I thought was our very last embryo.
Originally, we were told we had 3 embryos. We transferred two in our first transfer and somehow hit the jackpot with the most darling B/G twins. 🩷💙
My husband and I (42F/53M… yes, apparently we are those old people 😂) spent the next three years going back and forth about what to do with the remaining embryo. We couldn’t donate because we’d need two embryos, and I just couldn’t bring myself to send our little girl to a research lab. So we finally decided to give her a chance.
Fast forward to today…
I’m getting ready for my FET, thinking this is the end of the embryo road, when the embryologist comes in to go over some clerical things.
And casually drops:
“Oh, by the way… you have another embryo. A GIRL. She’s a 6AA.”
EXCUSE ME. 😂😂😂
Apparently this little lady has been frozen for FIVE YEARS, and somehow nobody thought to mention her?!
So I’m sitting there like… Would have been nice to know before I emotionally processed that this was our last embryo?! 😂
Today’s transfer was our 5BB, so now I’m officially in the two-week wait. 🤞🏼
And if this transfer doesn’t work, apparently I have another little 6AA girl waiting in the freezer who has been patiently minding her own business for the last five years. 😂🩷
But seriously… HOW did I not know we had another embryo?! Has anyone else ever had something like this happen?
