Logan Gilbert's final line against the Blue Jays on Independence Day: 7.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K

Only baserunner he allowed was a bloop single, he was nearly unhittable all day. 63 pitches on 91 strikes, probably could have gone longer if he really needed to and wasn't ahead 11-0.

Only two AL teams have a positive run differential

The Rays were in the green before their 7-run loss to the Royals knocked their differential down to 0 on the dot, so now that theirs isn't positive anymore the only positive run differentials in the AL belong to the Mariners (+18) and the Yankees (+111)

Ildemaro Vargas in March and April: 1.087 OPS, in May: .540 OPS

Pretty much what the title says, he went from being one of the best hitters in baseball to start the season to one of the worst over the past month. And actually splitting it like this makes it look a bit better than it really is because he went 4-for-5 on May 1st, the last day of a 27-game hitting streak that started in the last few games of 2025 and first 24 games of 2026 for him.

Or put another way, Ildemaro Vargas's stats, splitting after May 1st instead of before:

March 30-May 1: .404/.429/.702, 6 HR, 216 wRC+

May 2nd-May 31: .198/.225/.255, 1 HR, 28 wRC+

Baseball be hard like that
