What are realistic expectations?
I am exploring ring options with the goal of proposing to my girlfriend next year. I have an appointment at a local jewelers this upcoming weekend but I'm not sure what expectations I should have going into the appointment. I'm confident that I know what my girlfriend wants and have found a ring/bridal set that would be perfect, I've just heard negative reviews about Brilliant Earth and would like to go elsewhere for this design.
I'm wondering how well this design would hold up to daily wear and tear, what advice people have before I meet with a jeweler, and what a realistic budget for an engagement ring would even look like. Honestly, my budget would most likely be $5k or under but I don't want to walk into an appointment saying that if it's not even slightly possible. Any tips or advice about the design, talking to jewelers, or budgets would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
