How can I transition into mental health nursing?

I started ngg this April on a medicine/telemetry unit however my original goal was always to become a mhNP. I accepted my current role to try develop bedside skills though and ensure I had a job.

I’m now looking for a part time or casual position in mental health while dropping my current role to part time but have been unsuccessful. I’m open to adults, geriatrics or adolescent mental health but my only real experience was one adult mental health placement with sunnybrook which I really enjoyed.

I’m even open to non hospital or nursing roles that don’t pay as well but would give me experience working in mental health like corrections, community, counselling or support roles. Also willing to take any courses that can help my chances as I really want to work with this population again.

How can I 24f manage my partner 25m disrespecting me and being reckless with money?

I 24f am getting engaged to my fiance 25m soon but we have been having issues with finances. For some background we’ve been dating for 9 years and currently live with our respective parents about 15 minutes away from one another.

I make 95k a year and he makes roughly 125k but we spend money very differently. For starters I’m debt free and have about 50k in savings, while he is 80k in debt between his car, credit cards, personal loan and his student loans. A bit under half of the debt is for a new car he just got when he had a perfectly good car before a 2021 bmw.

We had a plan for him to save up his own 50k to combine with me so we could have a sizeable down payment for a condo or small home together. He was also supposed to buy me an engagement ring. But a year has passed now and while he did save up to buy a nice ring he didn’t save anything for the house down payment and is in even more debt.

When I try to talk to him about these things he will sit and listen but eventually he will go back to spending how he wants on new clothes, family, video games, weed, trips with friends or even spending on us for our relationship. If I keep pressing he gets mad and starts telling me to get of his business and stop watching his money which I am offended by as I feel it’s our business.

In his mind he can just make more money whenever he needs so he doesn’t see any issue. But I’m at a point now where I don’t know if I should give up on trying to save for this place and just rent a place together while living like he wants because it will be less stress on me.
