Day 23 - How is it looking

Ok as you might have noticed due to the amount of posts in my account lately, I am overthinking

I would just like to know how do you guys think it is looking?

Some of my fears are if the hairs are too close together affecting graft survival later on or if there are any indicators that something is wrong.

I am almost at the 1 month mark so I'll start to be more active soon and I will definitely have less time to worry

Thank you for your time in advance

Spike in blood pressure can affect graft survival

I'm curious to what extent a spike in blood pressure can actually affect graft survival and in what time window.

I see tons of people here discussing anxiety, light workout and even sex. Those, i am assuming, in the first days, have a lot of downsides, mainly due to sweat and the possibility of contact with the recipient area.

Thinking only about the spike in blood pressure, until when can it actually lower survival rate of the follicles?

I'm guessing, that in the first few days when the blood vessels are not formed yet, increasing blood pressure can really damage the results. But from day 5 onwards can this temporary spike really break vessels or cut the blood supply to the folicles and actually kill them, resulting in hair ultimately not growing there after shedding?

I'm curious because we, as humans, get spikes in blood pressure a lot, even with the smallest things

Day 21 - Dead skin/Residue build up

Ok guys, so I'm currently at day 21 and I've been noticing this kind of build up of dead skin or just residue that is on my scalp in the recipient area.

Is this normal or should I scrub a little harder? I have been doing massages since day 13 and I clean my head everyday. I use my shower head with a very low pressure.

I'm wondering if this might be causing any problems

18 days post-op - Clinic LHR Lisbon

Ok so this will probably be my last progress post in a while because the shedding will probably hit hard soon.

I already have some progress pictures but I have no more scabs now.

First of all, I must say that the first and second weeks are stressfull. The fear of changing position while sleeping, scratching the scalp, anything that raises blood pressure messing it up, face muscles moving hard due to normal stuff like smiling and sneezing, all of these are fear inducing factors that fill the mind when you can't do a lot to dristract yourself.

Time goes slow but I would say that it is satisfying to see hair grow where you didn't have non, and at the end of the day, worth it.

I feel like i ad some cracks in my scabs and I am afraid I dont have hair there now but I feel like untill I see the full results I will always have doubts about every little detail.

So here are some pictures and hope some of you can relate 🙌🏻

Scab vs Graft

Ok, so first of all, I know there are tons of post about this in this sub, and I am sorry in advance for my contribution to that.

I am currently on day 13 and I started massaging the scabs to remove them (not to rough)

Of course there are some strands of hair falling but I am afraid that some follicles fell too. Is there any way to distinguish them? Do the pictures look like grafts to you?

I am afraid because there are some longer and with a darker bulkier end.

Scab Removal doubt (day 12)

Ok, so I am reaching out because I am having some doubts about the scab removal.

In the document the clinic gave me they said to wash from day 5 to 15, apllying lotion, shampoo ( by tapping lightly) and rinsing with water. Only start massaging on day 15.

I am in contact with my doctor and I sent some pictures 2 days ago. He told me I could start massaging the scalp.

I think I might be doing everything to softly. I was planning on getting rougher by the day after the 15th but I am afraid leaving the scabs is bad.

Any thoughts?

Minoxidil 5mg vs 7.5mg - should I go back?

Hey guys (M24),

I have been taking meds for a while now (3/4 years and never had sides that were to major to even think about).

I was lucky enough that my stepmother went to a "hair doctor" and, my father being bald, she asked me if I wanted to go with her. Been going ever since.

I believe, if anything, the meds have slowed the rate of my balding alot because I dont really see a lot of difference since I started back in the day.

Maybe just the hairline wich my doctor told me is the least responsive area to oral meds.

Went from a norwood "1.9" to norwood "2.5" (I kinda just made this values up, but I think it is easy to understand)

In 2024, I started minoxidil 5mg alongside dut 0.5mg.

In september 2025 my doctor told me to go up to 7.5 wich I did. No side effects but didn't actually notice much difference.

I had a hair transplant last week and stopped the meds (because of the surgery) and now i plan on returning but my surgeon told me there were no studies that backed 7.5 being a good dosage unless you are really a non respondant to 5mg and have no fear from side effects. So Doctor told me 7.5 and surgeon (wich us also a doctor) told me 5.

My question is really if I should restart on 5mg (wich I'm more inclined to do) and if so, will it shed a lot or reduce the gains from the 7.5mg (don't know if I ever gained anything at all).

P.s.: If anyone who is reading this is entering their hair jorney I'll try to give you my perspective on meds and side effects. I know it is not easy but try not to overthink the side effects. Getting you hair back (or keeping it) should improve you life quality and not make you more anxious. If you decide to op on meds go for it, and try to think about sides only if you actually feel them, and you will know if you feel them.

How is it looking?

Hey guys, day 6 today, just wondering how do you think it is looking?

I am in contact with the clinic but since a lot of you guys have experienced this yourselves I would like to know

ATP solution out of the fridge

Ok so, in my clinic they never made it mandatory or even important that I kept my atp solution in the fridge.

In the document they gave me it said, "if possible keep in the cold". Since it was not mandatory I left it for a few hours in the first day, but then, being in my room, i left it by my side so i could spray hourly.

My room is not hot and no sunlight directly hit it.

Of course, having nothing to do, movies, books and shows are not enough to keep my mind occupied so I just started overthinking this.

Am I in trouble?

The doctor said if there was no heat it was not critical but I don't know what heat is anymore due to stressing out 😭

2 days post-op - 2500 grafts at Clinic LHR - Dr. Augusto Guerreiro

Been planning this for a while now. Researched a lot and found Dr. Augusto. Just want to let this here cause I just "hoped on the ht train".

Will make a more in-dept post in the future but for now it is too early to tell anything.

Just wanted to praise the surgery day, everything went well and the team was incredible.
