Storytime included:

Rose gold was my childhood ds, that I taped up to be a makeshift 2ds from a broken hinge until I messed up a DIY case and use it to keep it together for now, I absolutely beat it senseless with 2000+ hours of pokemon alone (because within two days of getting a dsi for Christmas my brother broke the screen fighting for it off me because he basically wanted two dsi's instead of one to always keep from me for pokemon.) It was a habit he started when we got pokemon games and he basically felt entitled to everything I had- to avoid triggering content I'll keep these parts vague, to say the least I got many hours out of flipnote so it's still a loved dsi.

The friends he made were also entitled chud kids and stole just about all my games besides the pearl and leaf green I had in my original ds bc they didn't know I had more than one system, and when I confronted the kid at his home his mother only gave me the wappydog and LSP games back, I lost everything until I cried to my mom to get me heartgold again then soulsilver (very good call on my part they are super expensive now) and the rest is history- I got some back, Super mario, Cooking mama, through different circumstances, Later in time my mom bought the 2ds because it was a cheep (and in my opinion not ideal sorry not sorry 2ds stans I hated it) system and it broke after I bit into it during a reactive abuse moment from my lovely brother again, I trashed it because I didn't want to face having to admit that to my mother or anybody else really.

My childhood console journey ended with the 3ds xl because by then I really just wanted a ds that I could play and wasn't going to be broken in any way, I kept that thing secretive but that also means I didn't get many chances taking it out with me, and because it was my only and first 3ds, and first limited edition, I didn't completely understand the aura I had and took it to places like Ihop where ppl talked about it. pictured I treated that thing like literal gold, it is very minty despite being my original 3ds. Frankly I just wanted a gold ds again, even if not rose gold.

Then later on I got my first Switch lite because frankly I never moved on from handheld consoles and didn't do much outside of that- unfortunately not my favorite because the screens are out in the open and not as portable- even if I am technically missing out, I have yet to find any other way I like playing games then just literally from my pocket while touching grass- Then my cousin years later surprised me with another switch lite for Christmas which I put animal crossing decals on from a time he also took me to an antique store.

All the games here are authentic as far as I understand. My Wappy and the game are the original pair. And I lately got back into the ds line of systems after I bought myself a minty (literally and color wise) ds lite for a not so good price online, but with fix ins like the R4 cart and pokemon black I used to have, so I could finally play my leafgreen again, and it spiraled into me also getting a new dsi, cases for all my ds's, acrylic cases for all of them and decorating them. Along with some new game carts I didn't have as a kid. (Atari Retro, Tamagotchi 2, Super Monkey Ball, Game and Watch GBA, Ontamarama) I basically sold a lot of games that were given to my brother then thrown to me because I wanted to buy these games with all the protection and cases I needed.

I don't have much going for me in life but I can say for certain the Nintendo handhelds, especially the ds, have given me comfort throughout my life even if they had it just as rough as me. I'm sure as my life changes they will be incorporated in my daily life.

💔Bonus: Bro found out and got jealous despite me thinking he was over it, and got himself a used OG switch I'm not sure he done much with tbh, that's when our relationship really was obviously fallen apart. It was a weird moment of me moving on from his tormenting and making sure I didn't share anything gaming related with him, but he still cared apparently. And ironically my brother got jealous after seemingly moving on from the ds line and onto PC in highschool- he never really played it as far as I know but somehow managed to have it in worse condition than mine, also mimicking getting a limited edition console. I think looking back he had a hard time accepting that not everything I done included him, and that he struggled to accept that I was a separate person that would be treated differently, but he wanted everything I got, literally, and his own, and he never grew out of that, we are estranged now.

Opinion? Backed against a wall at this point.

Okay so, basically I've realized I kinda suck at advocating for myself because I don't know what things are. In order to know I have to look it up, and I get that self-diagnosis is not the complete answer, given that it's taken years for me and growing up, plus a incident that has worsened so much of my issues I didn't understand I even had. I've basically been calling myself lazy or depressed because I found myself struggling so much since highschool that I couldn't even bring myself to learn how to drive or continue schooling after grade school. (Trying my best not to be identifable here so specifics are left out.)

The first thing to pop up was in 2009 in the form of mast cell activation syndrome, again undiagnosed but everyone around me said it but didn't diagnose it there because I was only like 10 years old and I was just so young it was unbelievable‐ they say as I start having unexplainable allergy attacks worse than any of my actual allergies and give me epi-pens specifically for that, going down the line to hopefully get recognized for it now I am seeing an allergist for a basic prick test in October and going from there.

I say all that because when I got tested for something else, I remembered they said I had a slightly high Rheumatoid factor too, something that is still consistent to this day as I've gotten tested over and over again because at 22-24 years old I was still very young in their eyes. I didn't have insurance or a reliable physician for years until this year and I don't get to see a rheumatologist till next year.

Until then, I need to see what was causing these episodes to get worse: episodes that cause so much discomfort a day after working or doing a lot of things- it made school a living hell for me since it was EVERYDAY and I couldn't rest after and waking up EARLY IN THE MORNING- I basically gave up on doing things like homework and they were lucky if I came in at all, came to a point I've had to start using electronic shopping carts while shopping, anything to save my energy. It came with an issue with regulating my body temperatur, something I had before but not this bad- I didn't realize until this week as I soon go in to get a 3-day EKG that what I was experiencing was horrible, CONSTANT PVC arrhythmias for days and not just what they call palpitations, that got so bad over the course of months I tried self medication, eventually nothing worked and I couldn't relax at all and gave me an anxiety attack, a trip to urgent care, and a prescription of Zoloft (didn't take) with Metoprolol on the side with "severe anxiety" listed as the reason when I had a reason to be anxious.

This all got worse after my accident and I was posted to work as a cashier at self-checkouts, meaning I stand around for 4+ hours back to back, and having to constantly walk around and keep busy before that was already a problem but not as bad as all of this- I genuinely didn't think standing around while managing people constantly was somehow worse...but I needed to keep my job after months out of work in recovery.

I basically figured out myself that I don't have anything going on with my heart directly, but what I was probably experiencing was PEM? And it seems like if that's true and I just have RF just...casually? I wanted to believe it was Rheumatoid Arthritis for 3 years total now because of shit like how I have damage on my jaw and pain in my muscles from being so tired it seems, but how do I talk to people about having chronic fatigue when at some point that became my normal, and maybe I didn't actually have Rheumatoid Arthritis at 10 years old??? I am still going to let them decide, but I realize I need to step up my game and not let them brush me off.

For those who have been advocating for themselves for years of their life, I specifically need advice from the veterans on how they managed to get someone to believe them, and what ways would you go about all this with professionals given what you know now? I don't have adult figures in my life that believed I was suffering in the first place, just throwing "anxiety" around and apathetic towards the idea of caring in general.

For reference: I don't think I can handle "anxiety" said to me one more time when this has been disabling me this entire time, and has caused me to be unable to stand at times, all the way back in school after the first day, my adjustments to life were basically me becoming soulless, and everybody saying I look depressed as I literally drag my feet around, unable to actually study and forced to cheat constantly on every test because I couldn't think, and years of being pushed around because I wasn't lively enough. I feel like I wasted my early 20's on being disabled while trying to figure out why I can't even study for a driver's permit.

I know this is long but I'm crying to the sky at this point. Years of thinking this was a mental health issue and believing it has got me so messed up on what I know I feel or not. Let alone how to do this. And by means I just need specific to me advice, if there is anything I missed that I absolutely HAVE to read and figure out, please by all means just delete this tbh.

TDLR: after years of medical neglect and malpractice, I am tying loose ends while figuring out I probably don't have Rheumatoid Arthritis but CFS with PEM that caused me PVC arrhythmias, before I see the cardiologist or rheumatologist I would like some advice from veterans of dealing with diagnosis hell what would be the best choice of words to use for suspecting I probably have CFS while still letting them decide and overall getting the diagnosis and help I need.
