Best alternative for SSR for large eCommerce business?

Server-side rendering (SSR) can be done in many ways using .NET. But what would you personally recommend for an international eCommerce business that wants to use SSR.

We're going to begin porting over from Node.js (Express.js + EJS templating engine) to .NET. The entire site will be rewritten in .NET and we are in no rush to complete it. No need to ask questions about why we're rewriting it.

We're currently looking at Blazor static SSR, but have also heard great things about ASP.NET Core Razor Pages.

The current site has a lot of client-side JavaScript. But we're going to be giving it a brand new look and feel as well, so it's not neccessary to keep the old client-side JavaScript. We do not use any frontend framework like React, Angular, Next. We prefer to do it the old school way: vanilla CSS, vanilla JavaScript. It's what we've been doing for the last 12 years and will continue to do so. And with Blazor, possibly no JS at all.

It will be built on .NET 10.

How to get the Smart Thinking achievement from Last Creep Standing event?

On Antica many players are trying to brute force the event after it was discovered last year you could get the achievement "Smart Thinking" from it. But so far it seems to be random? We need help documenting each step. So please join us in Antica to document the steps so we can add it to wiki. Is it the shapeshifter ring, the reward box or a specific order of the monsters. The event only runs for 5 days per month and almost nobody joins it unfortunately! And the few people who got it don't know how it happened or not sharing it! We think it's connected to the shapeshifter ring. Anyone seem to be able to use it. But it will only work after the event is successful.

How many accounts exist in Tibia?

In 2017 during Tibia's 20th anniversary, CipSoft published an infographic with some interesting numbers about the game: https://www.cipsoft.com/images/20years/Infographic.jpg

I wonder if anyone could estimate how many accounts there are now?

If I create a brand new character today and look at its directory name inside %localappdata%\Tibia\packages\Tibia\characterdata I can see that there are about 72,700,000 characters in the game - assuming the character ID number has never jumped up/down and always incremented by 1.

Back in 2017 they mentioned there were more than 30,000,000 accounts. But it seems most accounts only have 1 character, judging by the number of characters today - almost 10 years later.

And I wonder if they include deleted accounts in their infographic, or is that the number of accounts currently active (not deleted)?

How many accounts and characters do you think Tibia has today in 2026 that are not deleted?

Jeff (co-owner of Eternal Oblivion) has passed away

Eternal Oblivion is one of the most legendary characters in Tibia. It was created by a guy named Steve, and was later shared with a guy named Jeff.

Steve was the main guy who played it until 2006. Jeff played it intermittently between 2004-2005, and then from 2006-2008 until he reached level 300.

Today, I got the news that Jeff passed away in 2023 during the Covid-19 pandemic, at just 38 years old.

He had many Tibia characters, such as Loramir, Whipkickin, Dking, just to name a few. He was also an avid Guild Wars 2 player.

May his soul rest in peace.

In loving memory of Jeff, 1985-2023.
