Why do people think FFA has to be sniper only? I’m just trying to play the game the way I want and people get so mad

I really wanna buy the BO1 port but I’m just curious as to the current state of the game. Are there a lot of people still playing it? Do most of the game modes have lobbies available?

I bought BO2 first cause I knew it was gonna be the more popular one but I’m itching to get on the OG Blops.
