So I guess I am done with missions?

After about 900hrs, I have finally tried some missions. I usually hate these types of things since it is just...find this, kill that, return this, gather 50 ore, etc... I like to do and find things myself.

Nonetheless, I have some fun doing the 5 I have done, and of course I like the rewards. However, 2 of the 5 (40%!) of the ones I have done have been glitched and I cannot "finish" them without "cheating" (like spamming a target to finish even though I got all the Bear targets). So even if the rewards are given they still leave me with a feeling of non-completion. I realize they cannot get ALL the bugs in a big game, but this is NOT Skyrim where there are Hundreds of "quests" and the game is far more complex Icarus.

As I have alluded to before, more resources need to go to these things [In My Opinion!] and just a little less toward new content. These are not minor glitches I can live with, but Well-Known issues (google). Still not sure how most of you seem to think this is ok. I guess I will just go back to my regular old survival and base-building, which of course is still awesome. Too bad, and doesn't seem right to me. I realize a lot of the reason to do these is to get the rewards anyway. Still, it almost kills the reason to do it if the is a cool goal, but you cannot reach it even though you did all the work.

Please don't come at me too hard, I still love RW and this game and have bought most all of it to support them. (The Outposts are cool but do not seem worth it to me at this time). However now with these Mission issues that again, are Well-Known...it seems unfair to the players when they DO seem to have time to fix bugs, but they are 90% simply for the New content, not the base game that started it all for them in the first place.

EDIT: After taking some time away, I have calmed down and may need to try more missions with a different perspective. I am super emotional and Bi-Polar, so I am sorry. I will leave this up though, because I do believe I have some very valid points. I truly want RW to make Millions from this game so they can do even more great stuff!

I am sorry I have problems...

I started a new "Operation" for the 1st time, and I have no idea how to get back to the "tree" where I move on. It is ARCWOOD:Outpost. I have no idea what I am supposed to do, but I assumed it was build up, get decent weapons/gear and go back to the tree to move on to my choice of "campaigns(?)".

I simply have no clue now how to get back to that part. I tried the Char Select, Cont4ct Device... what is wrong with me. Unless there is a certain goal to meet to move on, but if there is that is fine, I simply do not know and I do not think so in this case. I am losing my mind slowly - clearly, no joke. :(

I am sure this has been asked b4, however...

WTF is that noise supposed to represent when you first start the CharSelect screen? It sounds like a grotesque slimy monster hocking a nasty loogie! LOL!

I feel dumb, but - game saves?

I guess I do not get what the Auto-Save feature is for. It seems to me that when I just Exit and Restart later, I am right where I was, give-or-take. Is the Auto-Save just like the "backup" in case there is a bad/corrupted regular Loading? Thanks!

I don't remember this being a thing

So the little shack I have mentioned recently has lost it's burn marks with a restart. I seem to have always loved the fact that these qualities remained in place for the life of the piece. Are my memory issues failing me again, or has it changed? Thank you.

I have asked this before, but a different perspective please.

I have an older B550 based rig. To avoid buying DDR5, etc. I went to the highest possible CPU for my Mobo (Ryzen 9 9500XT), the GPU I though was not a Stupid price (RTX 5060Ti 16GB), 32GB ram, and SSD. I know this is not exactly cutting edge, but seems still a decent PC to me for now.

My question this time is, can anyone here actually run this game with DX12 and Everything maxed? What does it take? Deep Blue? I realize UE4 is not optimized *yet* by these guys and it is generally hard to do so.

For some reason, this makes me happy!

I dunno about you guys, but I have had a few 60+ lvl Characters, decent Stone bases with a ton of gadgets and Iron Cabinets full of Titanium Ore, etc... and of course I am proud of my Mounts, Forge, etc. etc. but for some reason I am just as happy starting anew and roughing it.

This little cabin I built quickly to avoid a storm just feels so cozy and feels like it has everything I need to survive Icarus (for now! lol). Come to think of it, I even get a kick out of my Lvl 1-2 guy mining into a big rock for Shelter with 1 piece of meat to cook and just enough Stone to make a Campfire and warm up! 😄

If you notice, she even caught on fire in the Thunderstorm. I had not bothered to use precious (in the very beginning) Blueprint Points to get a Fire Whacker, so I had to hope for the best and use the ol' Wooden Hammer! So fun!!

So I made my first Shotgun...

... and killed a Wolf with it. Easy kill I know, but nonetheless I was like, "How cool would be if I could shatter/gather his bones with this, one blast?" All good still just saying, it was a "no". 😢

UPDATES ARE AWESOME! But PLEASE FIX THE F**&ING "sort" choice changing issue [for example] as well!

I am sorry...I appreciate the updates so much but I am damn tired of this. Why do they not fix the simple QOL issues as well? This has been brought up before I realize, even by me, but I am actually annoyed now. There are just a FEW of these tiny issues that make a potentially "10" game an "8.5" game. Why? Just why? I am sorry I am just in that mood. It just confuses me that is all. If RW can manage all these "fixes" to basically the new content they just GENEROUSLY gave us, how hard is it to fix a couple of these older ongoing issues as well?

I am so sorry again, I know I have said this before but it is just....why? I think the "fan-base" players deserve some love as well, not just the new stuff which they clearly have the time and "manpower" to address.

I want to please repeat and make clear: I do appreciate the amazing frequency and sheer amount of updates/additions. I have never seen anything like it in 40+ years of PC gaming. But I would trade a new, albeit very cool, addition of new "Husbandry" options (for example) in place of some basic QOL improvements peppered in! Please!

EDIT!: Ok so I was in a bad mood and it just kept bugging me that I had to re-sort my various Inventories back to "Weight"....almost Every...Time! But I have heard what everyone has said below, and they are right. My bad for being so picky about my own complaint. :(

NBD, but I kind of wish the picked up weapon(s) from dead prey would return to it's slot

Similar to when things are crafted, such as my #1 slot Javelin. They go right back where you had them which is awesome! Wonder why this doesn't happen all the time?

I cannot figure out how to start a Mission in Open World

Someone mentioned that in my earlier post, but I have been all around including Char Select and I just do not see it! :(

Wait... so if I die during a Mission I have to start over?

So like old-school games? I did all that damn Ore gathering for nothing? If so I can live with it, just not used to that anymore. I fell and entered "The Long Dark" (another Amazing game btw)

In 800hrs now, I still refuse to chop...

...any wood like this pic. They look so amazingly cool and ancient. Unless I was literally dying for wood, I will not gather these or any like it. I even try to avoid the full trees that have the super-cool "mossy?" base, like cool looking root beginnings, if you know what I mean. DAMN these look good! I almost wish there more things like this in the world, like super-ancient old tote-roads or long (LONG)-abandoned super dilapidated stone/other buildings or something, for kind of a lore.

Does anyone else kinda enjoy "starting over"?

I mean I am way past level 60 and cranking along, but part of me wants to start a new character and start collecting Fiber, Stone, etc. and build a wood shack! I think I am weird though. Don't get me wrong, I still keep my Lvl 60 dude, just sayin'... am I alone in this?

I am confused about the Fireplace..

So I finally learned that to keep my mount from emolliating him/herself, I should at minimum build a Fireplace. Ok, so why can I snap it easily to my older wood-shack walls, but not my newer stone ones? I have tried Wall, no Wall, add a foundation (dirt), I just don't get it. I had it burning nicely with a chimney and everything, now I cannot move it to the "addition" to my current base which is Stone. What am I missing here? Thank you!!

I would like to be able to sleep under the stars...

Of course we know the Bedroll currently needs Shelter. However I wish I could just lay down next to my loyal Buffy, some Bacon crackling on the fire and a Waterskin (by that I mean Beer) in my hand instead of a Shelter sometimes.

There should be negatives to this of course. Maybe not being able to set it as a Spawn point? Half of the Well-Rested and Coziness buffs would make perfect sense as well. I am ok with these penalties for the occasional camp-out when on an adventure. A Stick with a Marshmallow on the end burning should be optional! We already have the other two things (Stick and Beer), all we need is a Marshmallow recipe (Sugar, Water and Salt maybe?) lol 🔥 😄

ps I think am going to officially suggest the Bedroll outside idea at least, if anyone wants to upvote. I will check 1st to see if it exists already of course.

EDIT: I guess it does partially exist, so I upvoted this instead. Marshmallows can come later I guess! lol

If you agree let's do this thing!
