I built something using diagonal flooring; does anyone have any ideas for a railing or a half-wall?

Setting up the cave base is complete
Pets have been relocated. All that’s left is to build the stables.
During construction, I discovered that the cave itself offers no protection from the elements. Some equipment couldn't even be operated without walls and ceiling elements. So, I installed half-height glass walls on the platforms; the game engine registers these as walls, and the suspended ceiling above counts as a ceiling.
As for the batteries, I was initially puzzled as to why only three remained when I had placed seven. I eventually realized they had been destroyed by the weather because they were sitting on the cave's ceiling ledge. Consequently, I’ve now enclosed them in a glass container.

Silica
Finally getting into electricity but man, those electronics are expensive! I ended up building on the water in G15 on Olympus...my 2nd base. Im finding that silica isnt particularly plentiful in that area but i need a LOT. Any ideas where i might find a better supply?

Looking for a Mod to Address a Pain Point
Hey all! My wife has really been enjoying this game so we decided to try playing it together. But we've run into a bit of a little snafu that is causing problems. See, we keep getting attacked by 'murder horses' as she calls them. Which is fine - the problem is the baby. Every time we kill the parent I adopt the orphan baby because like...of course right? What am I supposed to do just leave it out there for wolves to rip apart???? It's really frustrating to play with a baby following me all the time, but one time my wife left a baby in our starter base and a wolf killed it so now I have them follow me everywhere so I can keep them safe. Once I had 3 babies at once following me!
Anyway, she's starting to complain cause we've only played like 10 hours and we have like 12 horses now. But what am I supposed to do?! Their my responsibility now! I don't really WANT to adopt any more babies but also I'm not the kinda guy who would ever walk away from an orphan I created! Killing the baby or leaving it is simply out of the question. I will never EVER just abandon an animal like that I don't CARE if it's digital!
So my question is: Is there any mod or setting that could help with this problem? For instance is there a way to make it so that babies don't take damage? Or maybe a way to set it so that murder horses don't have babies with them when they attack?

TIL: You can attach furniture to your mounts and other shenanigans.
This place is usually friendly, we all share tips and neat things we find but yesterday I saw the posts recently certain folk found a method to make furniture float, but they wouldn't share the method.
I've not found a way to dupe their method exactly, maybe a quirk of the console port, but I did find some cool things, I hope you find it useful for your own base/game.
- You can attach furniture to pipe/wire nodes. example: place a vertical beam, place pipe nodes, remove beam, attach a box. Possibly useful for placing boxes at specific heights?
You can even hide it by adding something beneath like a row of cupboards, or more kitchen storage units since the pipes don't have collision with furniture.
- You can attach furniture to your mounts. It will show as red, but if you click to place you'll get the option to rotate it and then it will turn green. The bed actually works as a mobile respawn.
Caveat: Attaching something to a mount will cause it to hover in mid-air next time you load, so you need to re-attach it.
Devs, never fix this.

Daedalus - New Companion Tool
Hello friends and fellow Icarus lovers. First off, let me just say, that I love this game. I have nearly 600 hours in it and been to numerous prospects. Much love to RocketWerkz. Keep the updates coming! The last one was great! I love my electric seed grinder. Beats having tables full of the manual ones!
Anyways, during my recent playthrough I found myself hand writing all of my discoveries in a small notebook. One page turned into many pages and, being a software engineer during the day, I asked myself "What the heck am I doing?". So I did what I do best, I created an app for that and named it Daedalus. https://daedalus.aixxiom.com
I have to give another shoutout to Icarus Intel. You all were the first and I've used your tool many times, and still do! I created this tool to reflect my preferred play style which centers around exploration and discovery. I'd much prefer to find caves and ores on my own with the in game detectors. I think the hunt is a lot of fun. So I didn't want a map to give it all away. So I made one. Then Daedalus sort of snowballed from there. I added grids to match the map markers so I can keep track of all my extractors and things in pretty little lists. I also added a utility calculator so I can figure out just how many solar panels and batteries I'd need to power everything through a single day given the daylight that I have available.

The breeding mechanic can be tedious, but man is it satisfying.
I set my sights on Boars as the first type of pet I'd work on and it was a long road, but the payoff is worth it! It felt like once you get animals in the 50 range for stats it's pretty easy to get to 60, but the 20s through 40s were a slog. I've got a breeding facility with 6 pens and I had most of them full through each generation. Probably bred about a hundred boars. I was super excited today to get my first 60 ever!
Wild is a bummer, but that is fixable. After another generation I got a surprise I did NOT expect though:

Missions- styx help (open world)
EDIT : SOLVED
I am so confused and have no idea what to do.
The map is so closed off, and someone mentioned doing all of the expeditions to unlock the caves and such for easier travel.
I started doing operations first, before gargantuan prime missions.
I got to the "encroachment" mission on styx, but I cannot get past a few different locations because they are still blocked.
What missions or operations do I need to do to start opening up the shortcuts and access points?

Elysium mosswood mission is such a pain
I got to the final part of the mission where I had to destroy the defenses and drones, and I died, and so did my tamed raptor. My base is right next to eden. So I go to orbital platform, get a other gun, ammo. Go to my base make myself a lantern. Get the minimum supplies I need. Get my other tame, my moa. Make it half way through mosswood and get killed agaib by a drone. It is so frustrating that when you die in this game, it takes forever to get back to the same place so I can continue the mission. I wish the devs made it so we can respawn with our supplies close to where we died. Cause now I have to tame another raptor or moa and gear up again and try again.

Murderation Achievements
I'm just curious here - I'm owned Icarus since 2021, and I'm just short of 900hrs in game.
I've finished Olympus, Styx and Prometheus open worlds on normal and hard, and I've just picked up Great Hunts and Elysium, and will be starting those soon.
I recently checked my outstanding achievements, and three in particular stand out as being a little crazy.
- Melee kills - ~2,400 out of 10,000
- Gun kills - ~2,300 out of 10,000
- Bow kills - ~4,500 out of 10,000
My question is - do people actually complete these achievements, and how - did you roam the wilderness slaughtering absolutely everything in sight like you were playing doom?

Title: Looking for help getting a Raptor from Elysium
Hi everyone,
I really want to get a Raptor from Elysium and bring it to my Olympus world.
The problem is that I only own the Olympus map, so I don't have access to Elysium.

Any ideas for a low bridge?
This is a wider view of where I'm trying to place this
I really want a low bridge here, but the half pitches wont let me put a floor piece down. I've tried both upper and lower half pitches. I'm not MARRIED to the design, but it is preferred. If you have a trick to getting the floor to snap to the half pitch I'd love it. If you have other design ideas (other than just a flat bridge) feel free to drop those too.

Back to basics, it's been fun!
I decided that after spending many hours with my endgame workshop gear that I wanted to do a basic run with nothing from the workshop except an envirosuit, it's been really fun and a nice change of pace! I got so comfortable having all that stuff and kinda forgot what the basic game concept was about. Sometimes it's just nice to build a small cottage and live that cozy life
