Trangiularity Matrix Base

From the Creator of the Great Pyramid: Trangiularity Matrix Base

Hello everyone,

Let me share with you my new epic creation! This time I tried to squize game building system to the limits by: (1) placing large triangular base on merely 5 pillars and (2) building complex marvel of geometry above huge canyon.

I hope you will enjoy this :)

Regards,

Pandora

Community Giveaway - Today, 10 PM EST

In case you missed it, I’ll be doing a giveaway today at 10 PM EST. Plenty of 0 V Pacmen Alphas of the following to go around:

Slinkers: P0, 2, 3, 5, 6 - others can be bred and delivered within 24 hours)

Geo Raptors: P0, 2, 6, 7 - same as above

Dune Raptors: P6, 7 - I don’t have these fully locked down yet for the other phenos.

I’ll edit this and my last post or so beforehand with sign in details. I’m going to give the dedicated server one more troubleshoot before I give up. If I get it working, it’ll be that, if not, we’ll do P2P and hope the frame rate doesn’t crater to complete unusability.

I’ll be doing exotics shipments throughout the giveaway, and I hope to have the mounts already down and set up this time.

Newbie question - Open World Exploration

Hallo,

me and my friend started a month ago to play a game in open world. We advanced to have the biofueld and now we were planning to move on other biomes using Buffalos.

We figured out it's very uncomfortable to pack things and move on another biome. We tried to move in the desert but there is no wood (we were expected something like that, but not to find nothing).

We were coimplain that to explore the world it takes many resources and many times, also the operations are a disincentive. We are currently in G4 (where we spawned) and all the operation are located near L12 zone. The map is too big in order to travel on and back from the locations.
Probably we don't figured out something importat of this game, maybe fast travels or something?

Advices for newbies are welcome 😄

P.S. for now we don't have any DLC and we are on OLYMPUS map

I thought I posted this - but it seems not. Is there a relatively easy way of finding your way through the cave in the mission Relics?

As it says above my cousin and I wandered around the cave to find a shortcut (as in the mission objective) but we ended up abandoning the mission because we wandered around so long we ran out of everything, food, oxygen, light and our sanity.

I realise it's almost impossible to describe how to find your way around in a cave - but some guidance would be great - if we can face going back in.

Biofuel lamp vs Regular animal fat Lantern?

What option do you guys prefer? I've used both. Not sure I'm a fan of the biofuel lamp. Seems like the lantern puts out more light.

Red exotics

Console

I've harvested two exotic trees on Prometheus. Meteor shower happened just as the second tree was depleted and the extractor was still attached.

Does anyone know how many trees can be active at a time on console? Also, does having an extractor on a tree while the meteor shower is happening break red exotic trees spawns?

I've gone around both lava sectors and found none active.

Any tips on saving animals trapped underground?

My level 48 buffalo is stuck underground aswell as one of my chickens. I tried a few things that didn’t work and the only other thing I thought of trying was getting the orbital pod to land near him for extract but it wouldn’t land close enough. Edit: I’m on console so no tier 5 or follow commands and it’s not underground in a cave it’s stuck under the terrain.

Not sure how family sharing works

I can't afford the game atm due to medical reasons. I loved the console version but it got limited when my xbox crashed. Was wondering if anyone with the game on steam and expansions who no longer plays it was interested in making me part of a family group so I could continue.

It's alot to ask but I'm just a gamer.

Our experience with Icarus: Amazing potential, but major multiplayer bugs are killing the fun

Hi guys,

I wanted to share our experience with Icarus, get some thoughts from the community, and see if others are facing the same frustrations.

Who we are: We are a group of 4 friends, all around 52-53 years old. We’ve been gamers since we were 9—starting with pen-and-paper RPGs and text-based MUDs, all the way to modern survival games. We still play every single evening (family comes first, but we don't sleep much!). Recently, we’ve put serious hours into Satisfactory, StarRupture, Valheim, and Enshrouded.

Our journey so far: We picked up Icarus on sale in late March. To host our sessions, I set up a dedicated server—initially via steamcmd and later migrating it to Pterodactyl.

At first, the game was a blast. We built, we tamed, and we progressed through the tiers. But then, the multiplayer bugs started hitting hard:

  • Mount & Server Lag: The lag scales badly with player count. If there are 3 or 4 of us online, it takes just one person mounting a tame to trigger massive server lag, sometimes putting the server 3-5 minutes behind. To prevent this and actually play together, we are forced to travel everywhere on foot.
  • Falling Through the Map: Our characters and mounts frequently clip under the world geometry, losing all cargo. This forces me to manually roll back the server using backup saves (sometimes losing 5 minutes, sometimes hours of progress).
  • The "Loading Geometry" Trap: Getting stuck in infinite geometry loading screens, sometimes fixed by blindly jumping around, sometimes requiring a server restart.
  • DLC Migration Bugs: After topping the tech tree on Olympus, we bought New Frontiers and moved to Prometheus. We uploaded our gear and tames to the orbital station, but upon landing, over half our items were marked as "still on Olympus", forcing us to re-buy armors, backpacks, and tools.
  • Frozen Tames: When we brought our tames down from orbit, they were completely frozen. I eventually figured out that sending them back to space and recalling them fixed it, but it was incredibly frustrating.

Our silver lining: The Moas Ironically, the only thing that never fails us is our Moas. Since you can't breed local mounts on Prometheus, no native creature can beat them. We brought over Moas with 99% resistances and over 2k speed. They are absolute units; they tank everything and defend our properties so well that we didn't even bother building walls around our base on Prometheus.

The core issue: We really want to love this game, and we appreciate the weekly patches. However, searching online revealed that these groundbreaking bugs have been present for 2 to 4 years.

As a group, it’s frustrating to deal with, and as the person managing the server, it's a chore. The complete lack of useful in-game admin commands means I have to physically move and rename backup files via FTP/SSH almost every day just to recover from a clip-under-the-map bug.

On top of that, the game lacks crucial Quality of Life features:

  • Managing pipes and cables is tedious; the connectors are finicky and there is no visual tool to debug networks (to see where water, oil, or electricity is failing).
  • If you suffer a power loss, you have to physically walk to every single miner, bench, and light to manually flip the switch back on. You can travel across the universe, but you can't build a centralized breaker?

Conclusion: Icarus has massive potential, but these long-standing bugs severely impact the multiplayer experience. Are other dedicated server hosts experiencing the same level of instability with mounts and clipping, or have you found any reliable workarounds?

Thanks for reading!

P.S.
yes, i used AI only to fix and make this more readable, as i'm not native english.

Is there any quicker or cheaper way to make chickens?

I've been breeding a couple chickens a friend brought down from space, and have realized that the recipes for chickens are not that good. However, I still want to breed them so I can have the thrill of slaughtering that which refuses to eat and refuses to stay in its coop unless I hitch it down.

Additionally it would be funny to have a thousand chickens.

Is there a cheaper way than spending exotics? It feels like breeding raptors and breeding chickens should not cost the same.

Twice now this has happened

I have a 12 wolf army and twice now 2 have fused above the ground.

Last time I had to kill a decent warrior.

Any ideas? I've reloaded every time. There is no wolf saddle to unstuck them. Can't bump them apart.

Is it time to kill another savage wolf😢

Edit it just reloaded an old save file. I read the replies and will keep the suggestions in mind,

Thanks

Alt levelling?

Hey guys, question about alt characters.

I’m looking to make a dedicated character mostly for taming and breeding, but honestly I really can’t deal with the leveling grind again. I was doing a bit of research and saw someone suggest using a geyser farm by setting up a defendable base and just farming the animal kills for XP.

A couple of questions though, does the geyser have much of a cooldown? And is it actually one of the best leveling methods or do people prefer something else? I’ll be bringing the new character into my main Olympus world, so they’ll have access to most things if that helps with prep.

Also, is there anything that gives XP boosts like certain foods etc?

And another question about workshop/bio-lab items, what exactly is the point of insurance? Is it worth getting? If I get items from the workshop or bio-lab, can I send them back up the same way, or do I need to physically bring them back in a dropship and then respawn back in?

Thanks in advance.

Things I’ve learned in Icarus

Here’s a few things that I’ve discovered so far about Icarus that not everyone might know. It’s mostly a bunch of small things that I think should be shared.

If I have anything wrong, please let me correct me in the comments.

1 - Organic Extractors seem to produce the same amount of Bio-fuel regardless of what you use as fuel.
Note: Have not yet tried this with Veggie Oil.

2 - You can hold a Portable Bio-Fuel Tank in hand and extract the Fuel in the Organic Extractor’s buffer tank to fill the Barrel.
A full buffer tank instantly fills the Barrel.

3 - Lithium tools are good if you want the Ionic dust to turn into more Iron, gold or Copper. Perfect for mining Stone for that exact reason.

4 - Miasmic Tools, while extremely hard to get on Olympus or Styx, are amazing for manual Mining since the Noxious Crust can be cleaned for a 1:5 ore ration, giving you 5 Ore for every one Noxious Ore. this also works on Exotics.
Note: Thank you to the commenters on one of my previous posts for telling me about this amazing feature!

5 - Bio-Fuel to Oil is a great source of Oil if you don’t build your base near an oil field, but to get a decent steady supply to fill your Oil tanks in a reasonable amount of time, it’s best to use 3 or more Organic Extractors per Natural Oil Refiner for quick fill up.

6 - Frozen Ore, no matter the source, can be turned into any random ore, making it possible to find Scoria, Clay and Obsidian without having mined those materials.

7 - Thanks to a clever Prospector in the comments of my last post, a more efficient Wood to Tree Sap recipe is known. Turning Wood directly to Tree Sap is a 1:2 ratio. However, if you turn Wood into Sticks and then turn those into Tree Sap, The ratio turns out to become a 1:2.5 instead! So if you do wood normally, One stack of wood turns into 200 Sap. With this new recipe, it turns into 250 Sap.

8 - Polar Bears are mean and tough.
Don’t pick on them unless you’re willing to die.

9 - Look twice before jumping in a hole.
It might take you a while to climb out of. This rule also applies to cracks in the Arctic biome. Especially in the Arctic biome.

10 - Picking up stuff from Mission areas is good, just make sure you don’t pick up turrets.
Especially those with different names than what you can craft. They might see you as still an enemy.

11 - If you place any building piece fully underground, it’s gone for good AFAIK. I don’t know any method to get it back.

12 - Building Support work on Physics.
A Floating foundation does not provide as much as one connected to the ground would. So if you’re having support issues, make sure your Support is connected to the ground.

13 - Not all support is Equal. This may sound simple, but a packed dirt foundation will not provide nearly as much Support for your building as a Limestone or Concrete building pieces would.

14 - The YOINK law applies to all mission based items.
If you want it and you can grab it, nothing stops you from taking it. This means that you’ll sometimes take something only for it to respawn if a later mission brings you back to the same base. Free stuff is always the best!

15 - Oil is quick and powerful, but beware their downside.
Oil Tools like the Jackhammer and the Chainsaw are really fast at harvesting materials. But the Jackhammer durability will deplete and break before you run out of oil in your Oil Tank, (not the Oil barrel, to specify.) And the chainsaw will fill your inventory up with wood, but little fiber or sticks.

If you have more advice you want others to know, share it in the comments below!
