Anyone have a guest not check out when they’re supposed to check out? 😅 This is the second time this has happened to me but the first time we actually had an open night the day they were supposed to check out so it wasn’t that big of a deal.. this time we were fully booked.

I go into the suite to clean and realize everything’s still there.. clothes, make up & toiletries, food purse, jewellery😅 suitcases.. 11:30 AM with a 4pm check in coming. Got the message from Vrbo saying guest has checked out rate guest. Call Support got the AI, which was absolutely no help told me to message the person. Well, you don’t think I’ve already done that three times.??? I have no information to get a hold of them because they block it after the stay! Then I remember that she messaged me on my phone the week prior.. I find her text and text her and finally hear back and they are out on the ocean on a fishing charter and thought their checkout was the next day. Needless to say, I had to pack up all their things and clean the unit.😂 I was just glad she was all right honestly. I did a much better job packing up all thier stuff than I ever would’ve my own. I treated everything respect and filled their cooler with ice, etc. for their food. Anyone else else?? what did you do?

They were super sweet and apologetic when they came to get their stuff. I have a large storage area that I put all their stuff in. This is a five unit vacation rental kind of like a mini hotel strip… the funny part is this is the second time it’s happened to the same unit 🤪 It dawned on me that I probably could’ve got in trouble or somebody could’ve said I stole something or something was missing, etc. obviously I never would but what would you do? Or what have you done? In this scenario?

Ok did they seriously plant mouse poop to get a free stay🤦🏼‍♀️I thought I had seen it all 🤣

So I get a call with a picture of what looks like mouse poop in the corner the bedroom closet on top of a little throw blanket. Like six little droplets. Then I get two more pictures of one downstairs in the frying pan drawer with three little pieces, and another picture of behind the TV, which has a little divots in the floor with no actual anything there. The upstairs and downstairs are completely separated. You literally have to walk outside one’s a two bedroom upper lower is a one bedroom. They are completely separate but rented out together.. upon inspection there is no signs of mouse activity anywhere except for these two spots.. meanwhile there are two boxes of sugar cubes in the kitchen on the counter upstairs and downstairs, nothing chewed in the closet where this was found even though there’s throw blankets, towels a pillow, pillowcases, etc. Zero signs of any activity anywhere nothing chewed no more droppings whatsoever in the entire house. I set six traps and ensure any outside openings are covered. Next day I go in nothing… nothing in the traps, no signs of anything anywhere.

They were there for four hours, every bed was either laid in or on top of pillows were removed, etc.. they ate, then they left. The most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen…. Was this a scam or is there a chance there’s a little mouse that pooped in two spots left the upstairs went to the downstairs outside got in one drawer and didn’t touch any food sources, etc. 🤣

What a week 😵‍💫 the last guests stole a boat this one booked for six adults, which is our max and showed up with 15 people 🤦🏼‍♀️

I don’t know what’s in the air these days.. when I looked in the driveway driving past the property and saw what I thought looked like a mini bus I became a little curious, but then didn’t really think much of it. Go there yesterday to clean one of the other units and there’s no less than 14 people staying at the house… 🤣 the van they have carries 15 so there is likely 15. They were having a blast so I didn’t really wanna say anything but today when they clear out if there’s extra mess etc. I’m going after them for Cleaning fees at least.. and yes, I will blast them in the reviews.. 😆 I need to make my own X account or Instagram or something with all the crazy stuff that happens daily😂

This is one for the history books..

I run a 5 unit airbnb property on the water with a dock. I offer crab traps for guests to use, kayaks with a signed waiver and moorage if they would like to bring their boat. This is in an area where the fishing is amazing for both crab and salmon. Well, one of the guests brought a little 14 foot aluminum that his son had just bought so they could take the crab traps out a little further and drop them.
Two days into their stay, another guest check in with his family and messages me asking how to lower the motor into the water 😅 I politely explain to him that the boat belongs to another guest, and we don’t have a boat nor could we offer one to our guests considering you need a boat license to drive one and there’s too much risk on our side. He says OK no problem…

An hour later, I have an angry guest on the phone telling me that somebody else and their whole family is in his boat.. they have taken it, cut the rope and paddle out into the middle of the harbour.

What would you do?

*Update*
🤦🏼‍♀️ These dummy’s had a hell of a time trying to get back to the dock paddling between the wind and tide pushing them.. Clearly had ZERO experience in the ocean. Guest whose boat was taken did not want me to call the police. He was pissed but because they didn’t do any damage (thankfully they couldn’t get the motor down) he didn’t think it was warranted. He and I both talked to them and explained how illegal and dangerous what they did was and how completely irresponsible they were and lucky they are that they aren’t being charged with theft. Turns out they messaged me asking how to put the motor in after they had already taken the boat and the traps out further into the harbour with the paddles. They knew the tide and wind had picked up and thought they now had to somehow retrieve them and basically hoped they would get back without anyone knowing.. 🙄
Support said to let them work it out and intervene if necessary. I apologized profusely to the boat owner and he didn’t put the blame on me thankfully. I will be leaving a review for them today and obviously warning future hosts.. Just another day in my world 🫠
