Should I push through with my Taiwan solo trip despite feeling self-conscious?

Hi everyone! I’ve been solo travelling since 2019, although my last solo trip was back in 2023. I’m coming back to Taiwan next month for a week on my own, pero to be honest, medyo naghe-hesitate ako if tutuloy pa ba ako.

I’ve gained quite a bit of weight over the past couple of years and I feel like I don’t have the same confidence I used to have when I travelled before. It’s also been a while since I last went to Taiwan, so I’m a little worried na baka ma-conscious lang ako the whole time.

I’m also scared na baka pagtawanan ako or magkaroon ako ng bad experience with locals or other tourists because of how I look. I know baka iniisip ko lang too much, but it’s genuinely making me question if I should still go.

For anyone who has been in a similar situation, maybe you’ve travelled solo while feeling self-conscious about your appearance or after gaining weight, how was your experience? Did you still enjoy your trip? May tips or advice ba kayo for me?

Please be kind. ♥️
