Relief Cut For Factory Barrel Removal?

Since Tikka factory barrels are notoriously tight, would the best strategy be to just shoot it out and then instruct a smith to make a relief cut to make the barrel easier to remove? First and foremost, want to protect the receiver from any damage.

I wonder what percentage of those that come here frequently to read and sometimes post are active in competitive shooting of some form vs. those here that are recreational, informal target / range shooters just shooting for enjoyment? I’m betting on the former being in the majority.

Japanese Medals

My father brought back a medal that I remember him saying was worn by regular Japanese troops. Although it’s been lost, I recall that it was in the shape of an inverted triangle. It had an eagle on it with its talons in the globe and a chain on its leg linked to Japan.

I don’t know why, but I never asked him how he got it.
