This is how my singonium Batik looks like.. too much light?

What should I try next base on these?

What color of sofa cover would go well with this rug? Prefer muted colors

Frifted this TV console, it's partially solid wood and partially wood chanks cover with a fine wood sheet, don't know the term..

Since it's my first time I'll appreciate both technical advice and inspiration. My plan is to sand it, varnish it and add some legs. really hate the orange hue but since parts are just cover in wood I don't think I will be able to sand the orange completely without damagig the cover.. also what color will look good? Since it so bulky I would prefer lighter color but don't know if it's possible.

That color varnish you think I should go for?

Also do I need to seal the wood after the varnish? Or prime it? Should I add some decorative elements?

Appreciate any advice
