Shadow of Time absolutely wrecked me (and I need more time travel fics pls)

I just finished Shadow of Time and I am fully in pieces. If you want a time-travel fix-it that actually deals with the emotional fallout, you have to read this.

Basically, a 35-year-old Harry and Draco get thrown back to 1995. But instead of just jumping straight into fix-it mode, they actually grieve the adult lives they were forced to leave behind. They only have each other to lean on, and the fic is just incredibly well written. It somehow perfectly balances being genuinely funny and full of fluff with heavy angst and raw hurt/comfort.

The time-travel consequences are real, the tension is wild, and the adults (especially Sirius and Remus) feel super messy and human. No spoilers, but the whole thing is just so grounded. Go read it!

Also, drop your recs, please!🫶🏻

I desperately need more fics with this exact vibe!! I’ve already read The Eye of Horus series and Aevumiter, but I need more to fill the void. What should I read next?

Little Lamb Gone to Slaughter - perfect 4th Year GoF Rewrite

I read Little Lamb Gone to Slaughter today and oh my god. I honestly can't believe it took me this long to find it in the depths of my drarry obsession lol. It's exactly the kind of fic that powers me through my worst (and best) days.

For those who haven't read it, it's a ~100k-word Goblet of Fire rewrite. When Harry's name comes out of the Goblet, the entire school turns their back on him. But instead of just suffering in isolation, Harry actually finds refuge with the other champions. They cooperate, look out for him, and genuinely take care of him like a little brother. It's such a refreshing dynamic.

The Drarry development is brilliant. A few highlights without spoiling too much:

  • Draco being the person Harry would miss the most (and therefore ending up as his hostage in the lake).
  • morally grey, scheming Harry who leans into his Slytherin traits

I'm a massive sucker for hurt/comfort and a balanced amount of angst, and this delivers perfectly. The writing feels so genuine and raw.

The author has completed this first part of the series. I think they plan to continue with the rest of the years, but it's been a year since this last one was finished. Please go read it, leave kudos, and give the author a lot of love! (Absolutely not saying this just because I desperately want more of this... eheh).
