I'm coming back to Drarry after a long period of being in other fandoms and I am LONGING for a fic with the best thing Drarry has to offer: intensity. Think Temptation in the Warfront, Taming Draco Malfoy or Mental. Just pure raw FEELINGS that pour out of them without them being able to stop it. It's fine if it's angsty or has hurt/comfort (I actually prefer that over just fluff), but it has to have a happy ending!

Preferably longer, and plot-heavy! Also no switching, please 🙏

Or: Draco works in the business tax office at the Ministry, and gets bothered with Potter’s brainless questions far more often than he wants. And inflicted with his presence. And confronted with his various wares. Which would be bad enough, but Potter owns a bloody sex toy shop. This has to be some kind of sexual harassment, surely?

Im trying to find this fic where harry is trying to take care of a baby teddy who im pretty sure has colic so he’s not sleeping and neither is harry. And Draco as well as Narcissa come and insist on helping him. Im hoping im not confusing multiple fics here together but I just remember it being very sweet and Harry being so tired and sad until he gets help. The kind of angst you feel in your heart it makes your palm ache, you need to stop reading to restart your breathing becuz you realize youve been holding it, curling into a ball and wringing your hands kind of reading experience.

I’m currently reading It Was All Just a Game for the first time and I’m blown away. This person dedicated years of their life, their time, their mental and emotional energy to writing this incredible, poignant, heart wrenching, hopeful work FOR FREE and they’ve just shared it with the world?? For only some comments and kudos in return?? That’s wild. Fan fiction writers are amazing and so generous to share their writing with us. I have never been so captivated by something I’m reading, staying up all night to see what happens next, sobbing one second and laughing the next. And it’s FREE. WHAT. Thank you, fic writers, for what you do! We readers appreciate it so much!

I’m trying to find a post-war Drarry fic and I’m losing my mind 😭

What I remember:

* Post-war era, Harry and Draco are not close yet. Harry is only casually friendly with him.

* There’s some kind of Christmas gathering/party.

* Harry suddenly sees a white light (or magical vision?) and experiences his entire future with Draco in a **linear timeline**.

* He sees their life together all the way to old age.

* At the very end, old Harry is sitting in an **armchair** and casts the spell/magic that sends the vision back to younger Harry, creating a loop.

* After returning to the present, Harry goes outside and finds Draco near/behind a tree and deliberately starts befriending him.

Possible extra detail that I’m suddenly wondering about: maybe it had a **Ghosts of Christmas Past / Present / Future**? Not sure if I’m mixing fics.

I AM NOT BASHING ANY OTHER PAIRS, I'm simply defending Drarry as great.

I'll use some other pairings, NOT TO BASH, but to demonstrate how so much more layered and effective Drarry is. Again, NOT BASHING, kudos for you for loving Drapple or Dramione or Ronarry or whatever makes you happy.

Also, I'm very aware (so please be too) that this is FICTION. And FANFICTION! We created these stories, everyone has different ideas, and really I'm just taking what is widely considered ''canon'' within the fandom.

Harry and Draco are effectively enemies. They are on different sides since the beginning.

I love Wolfstar, my boys were my gay awakening. But those two are just complementary personalities. Depends on the characterization, but it's always some form of crazy guy/soft guy, and both are good people.

I love me some Jegulus, super effective for winter depression (lol), but again, they are just complementary. Regulus very early on understands that shit isn't adding up, and makes up his mind. Even if he goes on to still do bad shit undercover, his heart is ''in the good place'' from almost the beginning. So again, complementary, jock happy guy/self-sacrificing guy.

But Drarry? Drarry is just on another level. These dudes are actually on opposite sides IN LIFE. Draco sticks to his origins for a veeeeeery long time. It basically takes a whole ass death (Dumbledore) for my dude to understand that his side is the bad side. He either had no moral compass prior, or was just a dumbass prejudiced kid until very late. Harry was ABUSED AND NEGLECTED as a child, his most formative years, and he still developed an extremely strong sense of right and wrong. But he also has an extremely annoying hero complex.

For their dynamic to work they actually have to SEE each other, understand each other, empathize with each other, and let go of so many ingrained self-beliefs. They truly have to put in the work for any kind of redemption to happen. Sure, give them all the sexual tension you want, but to give them a believable connection, you reeeeally gotta work these characters.

Anyway, hard to put all my thoughts in a second language, so feel free to say more interesting stuff!

So a couple of days ago I read this fic basically right after it was published and thought: wow, okay, this is filthy, weirdly funny, and somehow still emotionally convincing...

I already trusted the author because I follow their longfic, but now I’m stuck craving more stuff with the same vibe.
