Hi everyone! I wanted to discuss this because I was talking to a friend who’s a huge Harry Potter fan. She’s read all the books, watched the movies hundreds of times, and was really surprised when I told her that I’ve barely watched the movies a few times and have never actually read the books since I’ve been reading Drarry fanfics for almost 8 years, and Drarry is one of my favorite ships of all time

The t is that I’ve just never felt the need to read the original books because 1- Drarry isn’t canon
and 2- I also feel like I probably wouldn’t discover much new information, since I already know most of the important things about the universe and the characters from years of reading REALLY good fanfics.
So… should I actually read the books? Or can I just continue to read fanfic with the shame of never having “cared” about the actual HP universe?

Any fics where Harry is obsessed with Draco in sixth year and he assumes it's because he's suspicious of Draco being a death eater but really it's because he just wants his attention back. And then it turns out Draco's not been obsessed with him because he's just upto something else and not because of Voldemort related stuff. Maybe he's a got a girlfriend or boyfriend (though I imagine even if doesn't act on it, his Potter obsession still manages to irritate his partner), and when Harry finds this out he... explodes??

Recently I read 9½ Days by magpie_fngrl (highly recommend btw) and I really liked the setting Draco's moral redemption arc and their protectiveness for each other. I would really appreciate some similar recommendations also set in a War AU during the Horcrux Hunt and/or the Battle. I prefer top Draco or switching but I'm not picky. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi friends— I’m looking for a fic I read on AO3, where Harry and Draco were hooking up during their 8th year or after. Draco fell for Harry, but Harry broke his heart by ending things because he didn’t believe Draco was a good person and wasn’t convinced that he changed.

Eventually, Harry reveals that he hurt Draco to Hermione, who felt bad for Draco and said he didn’t deserve the heartbreak and that Harry should’ve treated him better.

Harry slowly learns about all the good deeds Draco had done for society and he feels guilty about how things ended. Harry learns that Draco is getting married (possibly an arranged marriage) and grovels to Narcissa for forgiveness. He then crashes the wedding and they get their happy ever after

1. That Draco at the robe shop wasn’t being snooty but an awkward rich child trying to impress Harry

2. The Potter “Curse”. That they have one person set for them and when they are “set” on them they lock in and become obsessed (James with Lily, and Harry without his knowledge to Draco)

3. That Slytherins really only harass Gryffindors and anyone who is friends with Harry Potter. The rest of the school does not gaf about Draco because Draco does not bother them, and they do not gaf about Harry because Harry pretty much sticks to his own house. So the Slytherin’s being evil thing is mostly just Gryffindors propaganda

4. Draco tossed Harry his wand in the final battle

I read this fic https://archiveofourown.org/works/66174571 two days ago, when I tell I haven't thought about hp since I watched the movies so many years ago (and I wouldn't interact with the new series bc fuck jk rowling) but I was from 2 am to 7 am crying and giggling bc it was sooo good; so I find myself forced to read drarry fics. I think my obsession was because I LOVE when a bad guy who did very bad things had a terrible life and everyone hate him (with reasons) but not this one guy who forgave him (thiam...), like that's drarry to me. And I would love to read more drarry fics where draco is kinda pathetic, lonely, and in denial that he feels alone, and harry is just obsessed with draco, hopefully more than 10k words (I love slow burn too much) and complete (I love wips but have zero patience) please and thank you very much 🙂‍↕️

This lady has become a corporate lady once again, which means I don't have as much time to enjoy reading Drarry (especially while I'm working, since my job keeps me busy, busy).

And for the "first time," I'm dipping my toes into the world of podfics. I say "first time" in quotation marks because I've previously used Speechify for some fic text-to-speech, but I was limited by a specific word count/time, and since it was expensive, I eventually stopped using it.

I know there are some podfics on YouTube, as I've been listening to Oh God, Not Again! by Sarah1281 (not Drarry), but I would love some DRARRY recommendations to listen to while working.

I read a fic few months ago but the only thing I can remember was Draco under a table while Harry was in a meeting at the ministry.

Hey everyone! So, there’s this incredible artist on Instagram called Viria94 (Viktoriia Petrovska) who is publishing an amazing Drarry story called Grimmauld Roommates AU.
Basically, Draco and Harry are living together at Grimmauld Place because Harry saved Draco during the trials, and they’re both coping with their trauma.
I’m looking for fic recommendations similar to this story on ao3. Any recommendations?

(sort of a repost) I’ve been reading “everything for you“ by Sha01001 and “goodnight hero, goodnight prey” by toxikgato. I love these fics and they’ve become personal favorites of mine. I enjoy plots similar to Dracula, where Draco dies leaving harry to try to get back to him and obsesssees over it. Usually this trope ig has darker elements which I really enjoy. id really like time travel but other situations are fine. I’d just really really really appreciate recommendations for fics like this.

I much prefer hpdm but the switching is fine aswell.
