Is it just a Twitter storm that will blow over? I’ve encountered the discourse mostly here on Reddit, since I’m not on Twitter, but it worries me a bit. What I’ve picked up is that they draw fem!Draco as anime figure and call her a derogatory term for women.

So I read this wonderful fic «Angel on his shoulder» by ProseMary today and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I wanted to share it with y’all. It made me all warm and gooey and healed something inside my heart I didn’t know needed healing. Funny too and quite short, easily read. Highly recommended!
Synopsis: Draco Malfoy is fairly certain he’s losing his mind. Ever since Harry Potter walked back from the Forbidden Forest alive, there has been a tiny version of him perched on his shoulder. No one else can see it. Not even Potter. But it noticed Draco. Draco named it Potter Jr. Later, when the tiny thing stuck its tongue out at him during the Welcome Feast, he changed its name to Pottie, out of principle.
For me it is Shirley by Charlotte Brontë. I have yet to find any movie or series made of it, just dozens and dozens of Jane Eyre versions (which I adore, don’t get me wrong).
The main heroine is so headstrong and amazing, the name Shirley went from being primarily a male name to a female one because of this book. It’s a fascinating depiction of society at that time, the social unrest that industrialization brought and it has several love stories. So where is my adaptation?
I’m waiting with abated breath.
I’d like to read a contemporary romance about a civilian that meets a royal, preferably without knowing it at the time, and they fall in love. Hopefully there’s a big reveal where the MC figure out the other is a royal. And then there’s all kinds of troubles because of the royals status?
I’ve read Lilah Paces Royal series and those are exactly the type of books I’d like to read. Or a MM version of the Julia Stiles movie The Prince and Me.
Honestly I’d be really grateful for any contemporary royal rec, even if it doesn’t exactly fit the secret identity scenario.
I’ve read a few of them in other fandoms, where someone is transplanted from one fictional universe where the source universe is known through literature/movies to the fandom universe. (Typically Harry Potter, but that’s neither here nor there.)
Does this make sense? If it does, does anything like that exist as a HR fic?

So I have a somewhat new Stanmore III that won’t turn on and off. I was gone for three weeks and when I came back something had happened to it. I checked the power outlet, that is functional. The cord also looks unharmed. Not sure what to do beyond asking the online shop I bought it from (a reputable one). Anything else I should check or do beyond contacting them? I’d be grateful for tips.
