Contact dermatitis or something else?
I’m 24F who’s having a recurring problems in vaginal itching since last April. At first, I consulted a dermatologist due to excessive itching that I was feeling back then after trying a different brand of menstrual pad and i developed bumps on my labia skin area. The dermatologist suggested that it was maybe contact dermatitis and prescribed me some ointment (Calmaperol and Dosetil) and Desloratadine to reduce the itchiness and irritation. It calmed down after a few days and but the itchiness was still there though it lessened as I was taking some antihistamines.
Two months later, the intense itching has returned. I usually don't shave anymore, but my pubic hair felt like it was poking and irritating my skin, so I trimmed it. When the poking sensation got worse, I decided to shave the irritated area. Unfortunately, I accidentally cut the bumpy skin, causing it to bleed. I check the area frequently, so I know for a fact there were no sores or blisters beforehand, just a rash on my labia that bled after I shaved.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
