Heard My School is Weak.
Hi All!
First year, not in clinicals. In passing recently, two CRNAs at a conference said my school "does not prepare it's students for clinicals" and "clinically weak." I was shocked because the program has been around for some time and has a lot of clinical sites. I also know people who have been through the program a bit ago and recently and they really liked the program. The thought hadnt even crossed my mind.
I'm wondering to CRNAs, have you noticed certain schools being clinically weak? What would you say for them to do in order to be stronger and more prepared? I know it will be a humbling experience but I want to come in clinicals the best I can and ready to learn more.
edit: wow I wasn't expecting such a good amount of responses! I really want to be the best I can be in school and take advantage of all the resources I can. I appreciate it and will definitely take SIM seriously when we start and come in to clinical with plans and back up plans. such great advice. now to study for these 3 exams!
