The End of Oak Street was fun but made me profoundly sad as a Gen Xer.

Brief review: A good fun movie set in 1982.

Brief thought: The more I watched it the more I felt tremendously sad for younger generations. The movie depicted a street party, bike rides with friends, knowing the names of our neighbors, reading books, lazy summers. That world is long over and we were one of the last to experience it.

The internet, smart phones, AI: they've all but destroyed any sense of real community and real connection to others.

At least we've got Reddit.
