What movie did you initially dislike but eventually start loving?

We’ve all had that one movie.

Maybe it was highly anticipated and it didn’t live up to the hype on night one. Maybe the pacing felt painfully slow, the characters seemed unlikable, or the tone was just completely different from what the trailers promised. You walked out of the theater or shut off your TV feeling thoroughly disappointed.

But then, something weird happens.

Days, months, or even years later, scenes from that movie keep popping up in your head. You decide to give it a second chance. With adjusted expectations and a fresh mindset, everything suddenly clicks. The slow pacing now feels atmospheric. The unlikable characters now feel brilliantly complex. You realize you didn't hate the movie; you just weren't ready for it.

For me, knowing the ending ahead of time actually helped. Instead of trying to guess what happens next, I could finally sit back and appreciate the cinematography, the subtle foreshadowing, and the deeper themes I completely missed the first time around.

I want to know your stories:

•What movie completely flipped for you upon a rewatch?•What did you hate about it initially, and what made you love it later?

•Was it a change in your own maturity, or did you just need to drop your expectations?

Drop your picks below—let’s talk about the films that grew on us!
