Why do some people enjoy being scared by horror movies?

I thought I was a perfect fit for the JD until the client interview
Applied for a design role because the JD focused on adapting existing designs, creating variations, and maintaining consistency across products, which is pretty much what I've been doing for years.
When I got to the client interview, I found out they were actually looking for someone focused on concepts, presentations, and brand direction. They even mentioned they already had a separate team handling production work.
I wasn't even upset about the outcome. I was just disappointed because the role described in the JD was exactly the kind of work I enjoy doing.
How often do recruiters and clients end up having completely different ideas of the role they're hiring for?
