Hi everyone,
I'm currently in my senior year of Computer Science and I already have some full-stack freelancing experience. My long-term goal is moving to Germany because the situation in my country is difficult and I want a more stable future.
I plan to learn German seriously (hopefully B2/C1 before applying), but I’m confused about the best route considering finances.
A Master's degree seems safer because it gives more time and stability, but the total cost (blocked account + rent + living expenses) could reach around €15k+, which is very difficult for me.
The Opportunity Card seems cheaper, but 6 months feels risky, especially with the current IT market in Germany.
I've also started thinking about Ausbildung. Since I already study Computer Science, I'm wondering whether I should focus on:
- Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung (software development)
- Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration
- Mechatronics or something similar
For people who live in Germany or went through a similar situation:
- Which route would you choose in my position?
- Which Ausbildung path makes the most sense with a CS background?
- Is software development still the better choice, or should I consider another field?
- Is finding part-time work realistic while trying to settle in Germany?
