Half sizes: more length, more width, or both?

Half sizes: more length, more width, or both?

Hey everyone!

This might be a silly question, but I’m looking at the Timberland Britton Road Waterproof shoes and I’m trying to figure out what actually changes when going up a half size.

For example, the EU 43 and 43.5. Does the 43.5 mainly give you more length, or does it also add width?

And maybe someone who has that model could share their opinion on them :D

Would love to hear your experiences!

Classic Crafted Clogs - true size or one size up?

Hii👋, I need help! I’m interested in the Classic Crafted Clogs, but unfortunately I can’t find them in physical stores to try on the size.

If I know my size in the regular Classic crocs, should I get the same size in the Crafted, or should I size up? I’ve seen some people mention that the Crafted has more padding, so I’m worried it might fit differently.

For context, I have a bit wider, flat feet and would mostly wear them with socks in autumn. Thanks!

Boston: suede soft footbed vs oiled leather regular footbed (for flat feet)?

Hii!
I’m considering getting Bostons for spring/summer/fall, mostly with socks, but I’m unsure which version would work best for me.

I have flat feet and currently own Arizona regular-widths in size 42. Length-wise they’re the perfect fit, but width-wise they’re a bit narrow. My foot tends to flatten toward the inside, with my arch going over the raised edge of the footbed. Without socks this causes a red friction line and blisters. Sock help, but I still feel the pressure spots.

A store employee recommended the soft footbed Bostons, but that seems to mean going with suede. I was originally more interested in oiled leather, but that seems difficult to find in the EU with the soft footbed.

So I’m torn between:

  1. Oiled leather + regular footbed (prefer the material, but worried about the footbed/fit)

  2. Suede + soft footbed (probably better for comfort, but I’m concerned about how practical suede is in Amsterdam’s rainy/wet climate)

  3. Another brand/model (perhaps Bostons just aren’t the best option for my feet)

For anyone with flat or wider feet: how have Bostons worked for you? And for those with suede Bostons in a wet climate, are they actually practical with proper protection, or too much hassle?
