I am considering going back to school for a SBL certificate. I am certified K-6 and literacy birth-6 BUT my concern is I’m currently not teaching. I am instructional specialist in NYC Catholic schools. If I were to go for my SBL how hard would it be to get an AP job at a school in Manhattan without being a teacher there? Would love your thoughts! Full disclosure I’m 45 so I don’t want to go back to school if I’m going to spend the next 10 years trying (and failing) to get a job in a public school in Manhattan.
