April ITIN Application
I applied for my wife’s ITIN number, mailing my tax return in early April from overseas. We used a certified copy of her passport and followed all the steps indicated on IRS.gov. I tracked the package and did confirm that it was signed for so presumably it was delivered to the IRS. We haven’t received the ITIN number, a rejection letter, or any response from their number when trying to call.
Every time I try to call within operating hours there’s an automated message that says, and I’m paraphrasing “due to the high call volume in this topic, call later or on the next business day”.
When I check IRS.gov my tax return is still showing that it has not been processed, so I’m reasonably certain there’s an issue with the ITIN application.
Is there anybody else that applied in early April that is still waiting?
