Lead BAS Estimator / National Estimating Manager

We've got a unique opportunity for a Lead Estimator / Estimating Manager for a great client of ours with a National footprint (Offices in 8 states, plus Critical Facilities / Data Center projects in a half-dozen other states). In the first place, they know what they're doing with all aspects of the business. That being said, there's growth to be had with their own estimating tool(s) and best practices to gain more consistency, especially across some of the newer / acquired offices on the map. Great opportunity for someone with 10+ years of controls experience with at least of 5 of those in pure estimating. This is a remote role with monthly travel to various offices at the get go and less travel than that going forward. Base salary range of $110K-$130K with bonuses.

Job Applicants, don't be "lazy" (check a few things right now)

To anyone here that's genuinely looking for a new job right now (or if there's ANY chance you may take a look in the next few years), make sure you're not being "lazy" and you're properly enabled to apply and engage. I'll speak as to what triggers this here this week. We run national ads on Indeed for BAS Engineers and Technicians. Fully 25% of the (qualified - enough experience is there for us to reach out) applicants never reply when we write to say "We'd like to talk!" Some simple advice:

  • Make sure your email and phone on the resume are current
  • Check your spam folders constantly when in "application mode" with jobs
  • Just CHECK YOUR EMAIL

Often times, I finally reach someone on text or phone and they say, "Oh sorry, yeah, there's your email....." I just don't get it. Do you want a new opportunity or not?

I'll hit on some other things soon (LinkedIn advice, resume advice, social media advice....)

Looking for regional control valve sales engineers (OH, PA, MI, IN)

We're looking for three regional control valve Sales Engineers / Account Managers for a great, long-time client of ours. The one in Michigan is a bit more focused in Industrial Controls (but some HVAC). The OH/Western-PA opening is more in HVAC/Controls and so is the Indiana opening. In a nutshell, we need people that know and have experience specifically in control valves / fluid control. Beyond that, it's about knowing the contractors in the region well enough to go straight out the door and call on them. Base pay of $90K-$110K with commissions and incentives targeted at $150K-$165K (at plan - sell more, make more though). Reach out here on Chat for more info, and we can talk further on email/phone.

BAS Project Manager needed in Fort Myers, Florida

We're looking for an experienced PM for a BAS client of ours in Fort Myers, Florida. Fantastic if you're experienced in BAS specifically, but someone with PM experience in HVAC, Mechanical, or other building systems could be a great fit as well. This is more of a "pure" PM job of running projects, coordinating with subcontractors, billings, meetings, etc. Compensation $90K-$110K base with bonuses on project performance. Drop a note here on Chat and I'll be happy to tell more there or on email/phone.

Billings, Montana BAS Technicians Needed

If you're in the Billings region or if you'd consider a relocation, we have big needs right now for some experienced Building Automation Technicians in the area. For experience, even a year or two of hands-on controls experience could work for one position, plus we do have the bigger need for a more deeply experienced individual if they can be found. Range of $30/hour for a rookie on up to $50's/hour for someone more experienced. As always, if someone is a combo of a Technician/Specialist/PM, other options and pay may be there. No matter what, if you're interested, reach out to me on Chat here and we can talk more on email / phone. (Other Montana, Idaho and Eastern WA opportunities are there as well with us)

South Carolina (especially Charleston) Technician Opportunities

Relocation, anyone? We're constantly searching for experienced BAS Technicians for a great client of ours in South Carolina. Charleston is the biggest need as of today. We really have opportunities for any level of experience, from year in to many years into it. New Construction or Service, programming skills or more of installation skills, just about any combo will fit. Pay $32-$55 (widely ranging, I know, but truly a spot for someone bringing any particular set of skills, interests and abilities). It's been tough to find people in the market, so we're looking to see if we can find someone that might relocate here as well. Send a message over Chat if interested, then we can talk more on email or phone.

Sales Engineers in Building Automation needed all over the USA right now. Usually if I post a job, it's a very specific role in a single market, but we have such a need right now all over the map. Straight to it with compensation: If there's a norm, the sales engineers we've been placing have base salaries of $75K-$125K, with commission/incentive plans set up in the very traditional sense of "sell-more-make-more" (just as I had with my old Siemens incentive plan when I was a Sales Engineer). Make or beat plan, and double the base and beyond. Top of the list right now:

  • Sacramento
  • Bay Area
  • Atlanta
  • Seattle
  • Orlando & Tampa
  • Miami
  • Utah
  • Cleveland
  • Los Angeles

This is just a partial list actually, so if you're just about anywhere on the map and timing happens to be right to consider an opportunity, reach out on Chat here. Happy to discuss any of these there / email / phone.

Multiple opportunities right now with a great, long-time client of ours in Building Automation in Louisville and Lexington, KY. If you're in the area and possibly open to something new, or if a relocation could work, reach out here to me on Chat and I can tell you more there or on email. Lots of experience? Fantastic. If you're newer to the industry, we could still have opportunities as well. Technicians $30-$45/hour and Engineers $75K-$120K/year, all depending on experience, and like usual, there can be flexibility and upside to these numbers depending on what someone brings to the table, willingness to travel, etc.
