Using the wall for the first time 2 months after we put it up!

Our other cat used it almost immediately, but this is our timid girl who's also usually a bit of a groundhog. She suddenly decided to explore the wall nearly 2 months after we put it up and now uses it every day!

Should we have intervened or just let them sort it out after incidents like these?

Pictured is our resident cat, Sandy (tabby 3F, spayed) and new adoptee Sherbet (calico 1.5F, spayed).

We've had Sandy for 6 months and recently adopted Sherbet about 1 month ago, following Jackson Galaxy's method to introduce them. We're at the stage of supervised freedom time for Sherbet, but never overnight and around mealtimes.

Sandy is okay with Sherbet being in the same room as her so long as she's not too close or she'll hiss. Sherbet is super curious about Sandy and always wants to approach her.

Generally Sherbet will back off when Sandy hisses, but sometimes she sticks around to try again (like in this video). This always ends up with Sandy spitting/growling and swatting at Sherbet.

Whenever this happens we take Sherbet back to her base camp room for a time out, but I've been wondering if we should just let them sort it out. Or if we should instead have intervened and led Sherbet away/distracted her.

We have 3 litterboxes, 2 water fountains, and their own food areas.

Thanks for any help!
