Morning musings.
I find myself this morning outside after a storm, letting my pint sized terrorist run around, and socialize with my older dogs. She would love nothing more than to wake up the nearly 2 year old grocery goblin (my son) for play and snacks but that would irritate mama bear, and as a good southern Appalachin, we know not to poke the bear.
I find myself reflecting on dogs of the past I've owned and think of dogs of the future. I think of conversations I've had with old timers of the breed and think back on the stories they shared. Where the breed came from, where its going, how dogs past and dogs now are so different.
I know I'm of the minority on this sub that hunt using their curs, but as a majority the history and culture of curs comes from hunting. I'd like to share a podcast with the group called Tree Talking Media. The gentleman who hosts it does a lot of interviews with old timers and big names of the cur breed. A lot of history and wisdom to be shared within it. (He also talks hounds but we won't hold that against him.) At the bottom I'll post a link where he speaks to Robert Kemmer, a man who has done some much for the breed and has probably forgotten more information on curs than most know.
Hope you all have a great day.
